It seems like there has always been a class for non-GS, non-Buick, Buick powered cars. I know the BBB powered Corvair was in the show a couple of years ago.

Any word on how many mods and still be allowed in the stock classes?

    I assume 72 Skylark constitutes Non-GS?

Just thinking out loud here, but seems kinda silly to separate the A bodies like that. Again, I don't care about judging, my junk wasn't built for that anyway, but I find it strange a 72 Skylark and 72 GS would be in different categories both being A bodies and the 350 variety even having the same drive train. Not b#tching, just seems kinda goofy to me is all. But whatever they decide works for me. Itll be there regardless of being in the show or not

I plan to enter the show too after driving the car there. I suppose mine’s modified with the wheels. I’m looking forward to meeting some of you folks and seeing your great cars!

I hope to make it there someday even if I'm just a spectator. I wasn't complaining about the classes, just curious about the non-GS cars. My car isn't nice enough for major shows yet. But I have taken it to some local events and got lots of compliments.

Probably the best response I've had is at the BOPC shows in Albuquerque NM. Went 3 years, I was amazed at the way the other Buick guys treated me and was checking out my ride when some of them had such beautiful cars. Olds and Pontiac guys were pretty cool too.

So, what's the verdict? Is there going to be a Buick powered non-GS/GN class? Hoping we came up with at least the 10 needed participants.

Thanks for checking in to it.

As of now no. Not enough interest. I'll just let em place the car where they will and accept the verdict of the judges.

I hate to say this and posted @ length on here and FB last year after a 20 year hiatus from the Nationals, but the whole event, especially the show, "is not very well thought out." Maybe we were just young and didn't care 20-30 years ago (I was @ every Nationals from '85-97), but the whole event seemed better organized and I was never involved or really even aware of all the politics/infighting. Yes, I should've probably called RL (who in this age doesn't have email?) and expressed my concerns and it's easy to complain, but I'm sure the powers that be saw my posts and the fixes I suggested were extraordinarily simple. I'll probably still be there this year - It's still the biggest GS/Buick performance event last year was like going back to my 2nd home town, but...

Glad you'll be there again this year. I too have been going since 1985 and have only missed 3 or 4. By the way, RL does have email and he's always available by phone. If you ask him he'd probably give you the address. :)

How close to the "10 committed" did we get to? Any chance of getting a class added the day of the show if there's enough cars there? I realize there wouldn't be a trophy available there if that happens, but it would be a shame to get put into a class that doesn't really fit the vehicle.

I'm sure there are a few more people out there that aren't on this forum or Facebook or other sites that will show up there and not fit into any other class.

There should be a bigger turnout this year for the Nats since it doesn't conflict with the other show/race back east.

2 no more no less. Its to late now to set it up. Let the chips fall where they may. I'll be a volunteer judge again this year. I'll do my job inc totaling all the score sheets then having another person on the team double check. When your sighing in make sure they got your name, class and car number correct. Last yr there wasnt a name to go with the car. we did a lot of guessing trying to put a car with the owner.

    Wow.
Will do. Last year, I had signed up for the GSCA membership at the same time that I signed up for the car show. Already took care of my renewal for this years' membership. Will see you there. Looking forward to getting a couple clings and stickers from you there.

    Thanks!

Been thinking on how to go about doing that. I wont be hanging around my car all day and other than the car most of you dont know how to find me. Maybe leave em in the car like the honor system? or perhaps post my phone number somewhere for people to find me. ???

Briz, since I will be at the camp grounds and hopefully we can gather around a bon fire, I can get some from you and I will also be vending in the pits. I can help you sell them and we can tell others where I'll be. I will have a couple of tables with friends also staying at the camp ground selling parts out of our pitting area. If that helps!
