Sounds good! Lets hear from some more. I know of some of the regulars that havent posted here that will be there. I would love to have 16 cars in the class this year.
Cool, thanks Starc. What will you be bringing??? If anyone talks to Gessler remind him about it. He won some serious cash last year so I doubt he has forgotten! Also, wake Hemker up if any of you talk to him and have him post his intent as well. $1,200 CASH payout guys so far! Quite a few guys went home with cash last year.
I am bringing my 65 GS convertible for the 50th anniversary, just finished putting in new valves springs, rebuilding the carbs and rebuilding the posi carrier
Does the tire rule allow drag radials and slicks? Thinking of bringing my '71 with the new motor if I can find time to ring it out at my local track. Also, can the air cleaner element be taller than 2" so the air cleaner top, when installed right side up, will leave a 1/2 inch gap from the base?
Yes slicks & drag radials are allowed as long as the tread is no more than 10" wide. Stock air cleaner with a taller filter is allowed.
Hate to have to say it, but Im out too. After having driven an old Buick to BG, and raced it all week, for most of the last 30 years, Ive regressed to sanity and I think Im done doing that. The trip has been quite stressful since it became a two-day drive each way after moving to Houston in 2000. That used to feel like "An Adventure." Now it feels like pushing my luck too far. (And, believe me, there has been a LOT of bad luck that Ive told myself was "an adventure" As you all know, the only part at any NAPA that is an "Exact Fit" for our cars is an air freshener... [I think I used up my luck the year I broke a tie rod coming down a bridge on I-65 and DID have a spare in the trunk...]) I may still show up, traveling sensibly "You'se guys" is the best. Hope to come somehow...
Really would like to see the car there but I understand. The cars arent as young as they used to be either! :moonu: Looking forward to seeing you there.
It won't be the same without the musketeers, Brian, Nic and Patrick, well at least Nic might be able to attend. I was looking forward to some more of Patricks stories.
Umm, thanks? Seriously, I hate like heck to miss it. I be there next year, Hell or high water. Patrick
Jim last minute plan change, I will be there, should arrive mid day Thursday. I am taking the 65 to new England dragway for some test and tune this Saturday, if it doesn't break i'll bring it to BG, otherwise I'll load up grannie for the trip Bryan
It appears the stars have realigned slightly--I should be at the Red Roof Friday night and ready to run Saturday. Patrick
