I'd gladly trade you for my th400 but you're mighty far away and I doubt you hate that trans enough to swap just yet.

Thanks for the offer but I have a couple of 400s and one is a switch pitch. One of my boys wants to buy my 200.

Someone corrected me as I had the wrong name for the contact at Extreme, it is Lonnie, Bruce is at PTS Extreme. Both are well know builders. You want this: http://www.extremeautomatics.com/products/2004rparts.html Scroll down the page and look at the explanation of their valve body and mods. It is exactly what we are talking about.

Right on the money. Maybe I will keep the 200 and make the changes. The only thing I don't like about it is the extreme kick down. Thanks for the info.:TU:

    Bob,

I have a 200 in my 66 Chevelle. I'm running a SBC Stroker with lots of torque and HP. These transmissions will not shift correctly if the cable is not adjusted properly. Trust me, i'm on my second one! I run the car in drive all the time and use a toggle switch to lock-up the converter when on the highway. They don't do well in the street driving in OD.

    Good Luck!

I know mine is adjusted correctly. Have over 10,000 miles on it behind a BBB running 12's. There is a know issue with the 3 gear kickdown that I think is a combination of things. I think the main problem is the bigger gears we use. What happens is the trans kicks down 3 gears we immediatly see 5000 rpm and then slam shifts to 2nd. It is not pretty. In my GN everything is tuned for this downshift and it works fine. Again check the link for Extreme transmissions and see what they have to say.

I'm sure mine is adjusted properly as I'm going on 3000 miles or better. No problems just don't like the drastic down shift.
