Here is a link to the website created for the 07 Nats, never to early to start planning, I heard that the response has been strong thus far and that rooms at the host hotel are filling up fast!

    http://www.nwbuicknational.com/

We had about 160 Buicks last year at our local chapter's Buick open, and 175 the prior year, so who knows how BIG the National Show will be, but I know one thing, you sure don't want to miss it!

Anybody remember the last time the Nats were even on the west coast? Has it been here in the last 15 years? This should be the blow out event Buick event of 2007! Anybody have Tiger Woods's email? I should invite him, he seems to win a new Buick every year or two!

That one is pretty close for me. The Hilton just changed from a Doubletree. Nice place. They're in the process of doing some remodeling right now. First they did some simple stuff to all the rooms, but I think they're going to do more as time goes by. They've got an enormous parking lot, although I don't know how big it will seem if that many cars show up!

My wife's office is right up the street, so I could always park there and walk down, assuming I want to be seen at a car show two years in a row!!!

Oh yeah Chris, I spotted you driving the 'vert across I90 yesterday afternoon around 4:00. I was on the bus on my way home from work. You had just crossed Mercer Island heading eastbound.

That was me, heading home from work, a little early, had to go to the Buick club meeting last night. People don't believe me when I tell them I drive the Buicks to work, now I have proof!

Chris, it was great to meet and talk with you last night, and I appreciate your enthusiasm regarding the National Meet.

71GS455, there's no need to park at your wife's office down the street. Your car needs to be IN the show!!

Unless a miracle happens, I will not be able to attend the 2007 meet. I would love to go, but I can't afford all the time off that it will take to travel....not to mention the expense. I'll just have to bring my future Formal Coupe to Flint in '08:grin:

So they're going to have a class for 1999 Ford Rangers?

As of right now, the Skylark is still sans motor. That could be changing in the near future. But even if that happens, the body still looks like I saved it from a junkyard (which isn't that far from the truth).

Find a way to get the BPD to allow running 1/4 mile races down 112th in front of the hotel and I may reconsider though... :TU: You can't see the rust, siliconed rear window, etc... as well from 100+ mph.

I just installed a cruise control in my 69 Sport Wagon, so coupled with the 200-4R it should be good to go! I haven't missed a BCA national meet yet, and have my buick registered and my room reserved. Washington state is a beautiful place, and my son was stationed there for some time while serving in the navy. We visited him and got to see much of the great things you have . :TU: :TU:

For those of you who worry that your Buicks are "not quite ready for prime time", I can assure you that no one requires that your car look perfect in order to participate.

Yes, cars like Chris' '70 GS455 convertible will be there and will receive much-deserved recognition. But we're all Buick folks, and we love 'em all. Most of us have cars that are "works-in-progress" to some degree, and it's fun to see the less-than-perfect cars as well as the pristine show cars. If you're a Buick enthusiast, that's the important item. Your Buick is welcome to the show as long as: a) Your Buick is twelve years old or older; b) You are a member of the BCA; c) You have pre-registered for the meet.

It is possible to register a car for "Display Only", but we also have classes for 400-point formal judging, Archival (unrestored original) cars, Driven (minimal judging), and modified cars.

There's room for all of us at a Buick National, so it would be a mistake to miss out because you don't think your car will "measure up". There's no experience that's quite like having your Buick at a National Meet.

I am probably closer to that, probably only about 15 or 20 minutes from Boeing, and I am 15.5 miles from the Nationals, which mapquest will tell you takes 24 minutes, and any local will tell you it takes almost twice that long, in less you are driving at off hours (before 5 am or after 9 pm).

Brian, nice finally getting a chance to meet you in person, look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!

Times have changed. Now you'd be touring the Redhook Brewery (and getting a much higher quality beer to boot!).

Although this is just up the street from me, the only way I'll be stopping by is on the Sunday. And that's only if I don't stay a couple extra nights at a conference in San Diego.

Chris, thanks for bringing this up and thanks to whoever brought it up again!
Just a reminder you must be a BCA Member to show your car, application on the web at http://www.buickclub,org
But you can see the show without being a member, as it's open to the public other than hospitality room.
A former employee of mine I haven't seen in 10 yrs is about 11 miles from the show, so I'm hoping to see her and her family, on Tuesday and get them to come to the show on Saturday.

Steve, the show will end on Saturday night (July 28), so it's unlikely you'll see much if you arrived on Sunday.

Sorry that you're going to miss this!

OK, I went to the site and it showed through the 29th. I may be home on Saturday the 28th, but a lot of that depends on if a certain group of people end up being able to make it. If so, I may extend a day or so after the conference ends. Otherwise, I would be coming home on Saturday. If I were to leave early enough, I could be here at a decent time.

What time does the show end on Saturday night?

Steve, the car display will start packing up late Saturday afternoon. The awards banquet is Saturday evening. If you arrive late afternoon Saturday or Saturday evening, you'll still have opportunity to see many of the cars, but some of them are likely to be packed away in trailers for the return trip home -- including the GM Heritage cars such as the Buick Y-Job, Harley Earl's 1951 LeSabre, and the Blackhawk. But come when you can and you should still see a good number of cars. Many should still be there first thing on Sunday morning, although many of the local cars may be gone already. Almost everyone will be heading home on Sunday morning.

I had a chance to see the updated registration list today. Cars will be here from all over the country, with a really strong turnout from California.
