2004r shifts too late

    Wow, this thread was from May of '05. That tranny is long gone. I completely rebuilt it and put it on eBay. I opened a whole new thread to show the damage to the internals.

    Overdrive has nothing to do with the band in a 200-4R.

    You could leave the band completely out and still have overdrive.

    Look at the power flow chart and applied devices for OD...

    MeanBuicks correctly stated it's function.

    I understand the post is old, but the incorrect advice given is recent.

    A supposed trans builder who doesn't know how the 200-4R functions...:Dou:

    Brainfreeze, have too much on my mind, but yeah, the band is only for the 2nd gear on those things. At least he should check the apply (and release if it has one) on the 2 band.
