Here are a some pictures of our latest Nailhead project.
The chassis is a 200" 6.0 second certified [passed top fuel specs]:TU: .
Engine is a 65 425 with Hilborn alcohol injection. the pump and injection can handle up to about 40-45% nitro without changing to the next size pump.
Trans is a very built shorty Power-Glide with brake.
Drive shaft is a Mark Williams 12" coupler system.
Rear Fab- 9" Ford with Moser spool 3:89 gears, Stange center section, and strange 35 spline axles.

I will post more pictures as we proceed with the project.
The right side exhaust is on the bench, so it is not installed in the pictures.
Just a little more plumbing and electrical and of to Phoenix for testing.

The chassis was built on the west side of Michigan at Fast-Tech. We have had to change a few things to make the Nailhead fit right. The chassis was made for a Chevy, but the narrow Nail fit with a little help from me:laugh: .
We have had to make a lot of parts as there are not many drag parts out there for a Nailhead powered dragsters.

Very Cool. Take some video of it when you get fired so we can hear the nailhead cackle.

very cool! how much are you expecting to get out of that 425 with the alcohol injection? did the engine require extensive mods to handle the increases in HP and RPM?

This engine is a step above the engine that was in our 66 Wildcat GS 4500lbs.. Comp.ratio is about 11.25 to 1. The new 401 engine will be about 14 to 1 and setup more for the nitro than this one. This rail is about 1400lbs.
These engines rev just fine:Brow: .

Too cool :TU: Are you in Arizona? If so, I'd love to see that thing run when you're done!

Hector I will drive the rail this year and then my wife will drive it next year when the New car is built, which will be twice as much fun. As much power as this car has the next one will have twice as much:grin: .
The car will still be metal/ no paint until sometime this summer. Still looking at a few styles for the paint work. The car will have a mid to late 60's paint style.

Is it bad etiquette to ask a race car builder how much power/torque/rpm he expects from his engine? :Dou:

amazing engine! i wonder how those intake stacks would look on a riviera? probably a little silly, but soooooo tempting!

Alan didn't you see the pictures?. We look forward to seeing you again soon also.

It's only bad ettiquette when you ask twice:grin: .

Seriously I really don't have any idea what the power levels will be.
I will know very soon though. At some point I hope to get the car on a chassis dyno for the piece of paper/numbers to these questions.
The real info will come soon with the et/mph that the car goes in testing.

Anyone want to take a guess at the et/mph.
    1400lb car 500+ hp =:3gears:

Where did you find the Hilborn Injection? One of my dreams is to build a 66 GS in a 60's super stock theme. Man that engine is flat out awsome!

The Hilborn on the car was just machined @ Hilborn and set up by Don.
I was told it was their last one until more are cast.:Do No:

Where is a good link to the HP calculators and ET/ MPH ones also.
    Thanks

I have a rough baseline to go from with our Wildcat GS before removing all the belt driven items, the factory exhaust manifolds, and 3200lbs:laugh: also the areodynamics should be much better.
The numbers you folks are saying is making it hard to wait for testing.
