Are there any intallation or fitment issues when installing TA 2" stage-1 headers over the 1-7/8" headers? 70 GS

Are you making over 650 hp to even make good use of those bigger tubes?

They fit better than stage1 headers.

They are stage 1, just bigger at 2" primaries

When does one need to step up to the 2 1/8"?
Do any of you use the 2 1/8"? I'm having an engine build and am hoping to hit the 700 mark.
Would 2" work? I have 1 7/8" now just was for the old mild motor.

My mistake, read it wrong. Stage1 headers are easier to maneuver around if you cut off the 4 knobs just below to deck surface.factory used them in the machining process.also you can loosen the steering column plate and shift it over to gain some clearance.

    Great question!
The factory stage 2 Kustom headers were 2.125" and that engine was roughly 540 hp. If you go on YouTube and look up that engine show on motor trend, they did an episode on primary diameter

Not exactly thread related, but 2" stage 2 headers have to be placed in the engine compartment before the engine goes in. I tried everything including lifting the engine off the mounts and they will not go in from the bottom.
