Anyone here have one? If so, how do you like it. Found one for sale and I'm thinking about it.

    Mark,

I had a '95 Riv....great car. LOTS of style. Go with the Supercharged V6 if you can. They will SCREAM (well...for a modern car anyway).

My mom has a '95 supercharged and calls it the 'creampuff' Awesome car, but parts will become hard to find eventually because of the low production of only 4 years, they don't seem to be holding any vaiue either which is unfortunate! Maybe someday, but the part availability or lack there of is scary!

Mark - I've got a 96 with the SC3800 - Incredible all around car!!!:TU: All the luxary and power you need for a daily driver!

I got over 30 mpg on trips! Plus, for about $1000 (maybe less) you can be running 13's!!!

How much is the 97? Just so you know, the 98-99 have the 4T65eHD transaxle which is better then the 4T60e. Same tranny as the 98 and up GTP and GS - lots of aftermarket parts for them. Tons of things you can do to the motor if you're so inclined!

Also, the 98-99 Riv's had less recalls on them for the ABS stuff. The 95-97 had more problems with the modulator valve or something like that.

Scott, this is a low mileage car. They are asking $6500. Not supercharged.

The NA 3800 is no dog...but I can promise you, the SC3800 will put a smile on your face! For such a small motor...they sure have ALOT of potential!! Not bad stock either!:TU:

$6500 is a rather attractive price for a 97!! I think you will like it!

It's gone! It sold in 2 days. I should have jumped on it.

My '95 has been a good car - I have driven it 78,000 miles in the last two years. Good power, great style, very comfortable.

I've had to work on the power steering pump/steering rack, bad leaks and the pump is a b###h to change. My NAPA special rebuilt pump was bad out of the box but I was too tired to take it off and exchange it, so the steering hasn't been right for the last year. Also, I have non-functional ABS and traction control with the warning lights on in the dash - maybe someday I'll figure out how to fix them, I sure can't afford to have the dealer do it.

All in all, the car is pretty good for 128,000 miles and eight years old. I want to (someday) come up with some one off 17" old style rallye wheels and put GS badges on the car - it would be cool to have the world's only '95 Rivvy GS-

John - I believe there is an ABS 'modulator valve' or something like that, that goes bad on these cars (and other GM). My cousins 94 Bonneville SSEi has the SC3800 and his dash is constantly lit up from the ABS and Traction Control lights!:blast:

It's possible, that someone had bled the brakes wrong and blew out the one way valve that's inline. At least, that may be the case with his car.

As far as the 17" rims...I've considered them too! Realistically, I'll probably sell the Riv when I get back from CA. Hate to do it...but there will always be something else...:) I'd really like to get a 98-99 Riv - and do some mods to it. Low 13 sec. stuff!!:Brow:
