There were no sub-options with the Park Avenue, the thick carpet came with the package (I had thought that the center console was a sub option of the Park Ave. but I have seen pictures of a 225 with a center console, so it was available on the 225 and limited). As far as the interior goes, the Park Avenue option included executive seating, different headliner, door panels, "thick cut pile carpet", which also added some sound insulation. The Park Avenue does not have chrome seat trim like the limited and 225, instead it is velour covered. I believe the center console was standard in 1975, but was later moved to a standard option available to all trim lines in 1976 due to complaints. That carpeting is very nice; I don't know if it is true shag it just might be. I do know that it is very similar to the carpeting in my Lincoln Town Car, very soft and very thick. The cars are the same size, so if you did need some carpet, you could probably take some from a junked Lincoln. That would be much easier to find than a junked Park Avenue.

Buickapollo455 has lost of 1975-1976 Electra/Park Avenue experience and he said that the carpet found in the Park Ave. is very hard to find a direct replacement for. All of the eBay and online places seem to just carry the base model thin cut-pile. You might PM him and see if he has been able to find anything, it has been awhile since we had the 1975-1976 Park Avenue thread active.

I really like the Park Avenue, I think it is one of the hardest to find Buicks (there are a few on eBay right now, which is rare). Maybe not as rare as something like the GSX or GNX in terms of numbers, but those are easy to find and buy, whereas the 75-76 Park Avenue seems to have slipped through the cracks over the years, although that probably isn't the best terminology since the car is the biggest hardtop GM ever produced.

Park ave , had shag in 75, only the 76 did not get it. Also no carpet mill is running the carpet at this time. the carpet was also used in 80 turbo firebird, and chrysler Lebaron and caddy eldo, the mills have no demand thus not running it anymore. I need it in my black interior bucket car and console, if you need History to 75 start of parkavenue let me know Ihave researched full history including rare 37 cars know as Executive Deluxe. Car was started Aug 1 in 74, and stopped mid Aug due to cost and brought back in sept under delete package option form 2, first 37 were fully loaded all options no deletes at all at 9800 dollars plus. Craig 75 parkave executive deluxe, 76 Park ave.

If your car has the visor mirror with lamp, then then the map lamp was crossed off , as best of the best you had a better more expensive option similar in the car. The trailer hitch was a dealer added option and available but after car was purchased at your dealer as well as floor mat for the trunk, but the floor mat was order able item at the time of preorder at dealer order form. The headliner listed is part of Park ave group. Do you know your production date or build date, mine was in drivers side back door behind door panel.? Possible of all the option listed could be a Deluxe option car. I did not list all my options when listed before , you did well. I have had stripped later model parks with straight columns and not tilt, slide seats no power, am radio, no speedbuzz, no cruise, no fender lamps , no side corner lamps,. etc, these were the delete options and still a parkave. interior package. Is your grill under driver head lamp vented or not?? slots in grill open or solid plate grill? early is not open but solid non vented. Do you have wide or narrow side trim on doors sides ? narrow early, wide later.

I also have a Park av with 1 inch deep black faded shag.

The carpet looms of usa are not making any loom shag , firebird for 30th annv, has shag too, the eldo caddy with stainless roof for 80-81 has shag too, One lebaron chrysler has it too. but no carpet mills are making it. Talked with a major carpet dealer at Back to 50s minnesota, they told me same thing NO demand is their reply. I am going to dye mine, to save it.

Another member of the BCA is trying to get a log of only park avenue going, this month at BCA Bugle is an issue or article on just the park avenue of 75-76. I wrote an article for bugle about a year ago on the Park and how many of each color interior etc were made. I have all the stats on the buick Park for 75, only a few did get Shag, as the car first issued had only 37 cars sent out as a test car , known as Executive deluxe. These cars had all options except the sunroof as this was a late year item. Also the early cars had the 74 side trim not the wide trim, The narrow trim was of late sent to the 225 only, the limited series proceeded with the wide side. So a very early park had the 1/4inch wide stainless on the doors and qtrs level down the middle of the doors. Have you found your build sheet? in the back door driver side behind the door pad. check you date of build. First order form shows july 1, 1974. first cars known are near july 12-17th, Mine is july 14, and according to Flint, is most likely one of the first proto type test cars 37. Mine is HOT red, with black top and black guts. Ugly on electra as a color. But I am restoring to original.

do you have carpet trunk or cardboard walls. ? wide trim brush side? or qtr inch stainless trim. ? do you have vents under the drivers light in grill, see late year cut into the grill to get more air thru. early has no vents just fake grill under lights. Is your defog a wire or blower? side white lights are option order only on 75-6, auto air or manual slide? auto key open doors with key indoor.? dome spot lights. , do you have fender top sites for signals?

I have never seen in person, a tan interior, I have had red, black and blue. I took one interior redid it in white leather and stuffed it in a 72, complete with console.

sounds like a full loaded car. Dome lights have no spots or has round spots either side of dome lamp, option. Look at grill of headlight driverside. if has vents is later, but you have narrow trim side tells me it is early edition. Do you have build sheet? Are you a BCA member? I had a black car with burgundy interior, had a blue with blue interior, and a blue with black interior. My car is a red red, matches chip. has narrow side trim ..auto air.. 6 way dual seats...power door key outside....map light mirror, spots on sealing. and rear qtr lamps, black shag....no vents in grill, .... NO bumper ettes, not till 2nd offer on build order sheets. ..... camel grain vinyl top with reveal trim.... speed buzz, NO econo gage... envious!!!, I have an econo in the box in garage. I have carpet trunk.... missing the floor mat for trunk, ..... have ralley rims... blower defog.... power antenna,....

the bca pete phillips editor would like to hear about your car..

search Pete Phillips at buickclubofamerica ,, may send you a last edition of bugle monthly, with park ave issue. craig
