Although I intended to keep this rare gem indefinitely, I have to be realistic and realize I don’t have the time and funding to restore two classic Buicks. My first car, a 1969 Buick GS Colorado, is my first priority and I need the funding to get the car painted. I’d rather not follow my fathers example and still be waiting to finish his first car at 55 years old.

1974 Buick Century Gran Sport Stage 1 455. 117K original miles. One of 478 Stage 1 455s made in the final year of production.

I bought the car from the original owner two years ago. Bench seat equipped with the optional Luxus Interior Package. Air conditioning, power windows and power locks. Car has spent its entire lift in Missouri. It's very solid and complete with a numbers matching drivetrain, TH400 trans and 3.42 Posi. Everything on the car is original save for a brand new rear package tray that I installed. The car will come with the original window sticker, build sheet, dealership brochures and other documentation when sold new.

Since buying the car, I spent the better part of two weeks carefully removing a lot of the interior to do a deep cleaning. All vinyl and leather surfaces have been reconditioned. The interior is legitimately time capsule fresh. Gorgeous seats, carpet, headliner, OEM floor mats and door panels. There is a small crack in the dash on the passenger side as you can see, but the interior of this car is otherwise showroom and wouldn’t need any attention at all.

The engine will turn over and run, but it spun a rod bearing and knocks. I was planning for a full rebuild, and would recommend you do the same on a numbers matching Stage 1 engine. Very very little rust anywhere. Floors are perfect. Trunk floor is perfect, fenders and rockers and quarters are very nice. See pictures. At one point, the previous owner backed into the car in his driveway, which accounts for the dent in the drivers door. I’m quite sure a good body man could repair it, and it’s probably worth it, as there is zero rust on these doors.

Also included with the sale of this car is an additional very nice front cowl panel since the one on the car is dented as you can see. I’ll also include an excellent 1974 GS grille that I purchased separately.

My father and I are Buick nuts. You’re not buying from a car flipper, but a Buick enthusiast who wants this car to go to somebody like us. And while I know I will likely regret letting go unquestionably the rarest one I’ve owned so far, it’ll be worth it when I can climb back in the drivers seat of my 69 once again for the first time in years. PM for my phone number if you’d like to discuss more about the car in person. Thanks.

I had one back in the mid 80's that was white with white buckets and a black vinyl half roof, a completely 100% original car, that I think went to Wyoming, it was one I should have kept! These cars are extremely rare and are "great driving Buicks" Larry.
