    Tom
    Your 73 is a 73 GS 455?
Are you going to run it this Sept at PSD's or run the bird again?

    Rich,
    I sold the 73 GS455 4speed car that I had.
I now have a 73 GS350 that I will probably run in this fall's demo derby:Do No: Rough car needing alot of work.
I'm checking into a couple other 73 455 cars, one of which is a Stage1, the other is one of these oddball "T" code 455 cars.

Also have some interested parties in my Firebird, and if I sell I have been checking into a certain 72 Stage1.:Brow:

We'll have to wait and see what happens:bglasses:

No "W" engine codes were used in 1973-1974. 1974 was ZI, ZF or ZS. 1972 used WA, WF, and WS.

I spotted a Century 2 door in a salvage yard yesterday, and it was a 455 car, and I think it was a "T" code. guy wanted $795 for it, he said it has blown head gasket, no title.

Does the 99 "T" code non-GS 455 cars include wagons?

Do you know what ever happened to that car &/or where Jerry lives? I see in a later post in this thread Jerry was trying to sell it and that he hasn't been on here since 2009.

Reason I ask, besides that I like low option and esp. factory manual steering GS's, is I think I know of a Blue (?) 73 Stage 1 4-sp not far (at all) from you. Thinking it might be the same car - Not sure the name of the guy who owns it but could probably find out.

Is the same Firebird you just sold? And how ironic that you just did also get a '72 Stage 1.

Wow, talk about a thread brought back from the dead, lol.
Different Firebird, different 72 Stage 1.

As far as the 73 Stripper GS Jerry Derise owned, I bought that one as well, got it running, and resold it when I couldn't find quarter panels for it.
Last I knew, Mike Sobotka out in Idaho owned it. Don't know what he's doing with it.
The original engine and trans were long gone. It had a Rossler TH400 in it when I bought it, and I found a good running 70 455 I put in to make it driveable.
There was a Borg Warner Super T10 in the trunk, Along with the 4 speed parts for the car.
I can't answer your "T" code question, I don't think anyone ever came up with anything that made sense in those cars.
To me, the production totals for 1973 are WRONG, and should be adjusted to include the 99 T code cars, as I believe all the T code cars we have seen have all the correct GS ornamentation on them, they aren't "fakes", or "clones". IMHO

You are correct ,Tom. T code GS 455, 99 built. I have Sloan Museum documents that show mine is a Gran Sport 455.

I knew it was a different '72 Stage 1 it figured it might be the same Firebird. Funny how that worked out.

Not that I'm looking for (another) project and esp. not a 73, but will have to ask Mike about that car.

The way I read this about the "T" cars ("T = Most were option A9 455-4 GS455, 99 vehicles were option A6 455-4 non-GS") is that there were 99 regular Centuries that came w/455's and a bunch of GS's that came with "T" in the Vin but got Dual exhaust and were in fact GS's.

I know there were some Centuty 455's (99 presumably) and the reason I asked about the wagons is a friend had a factory Century 455 wagon back in the 80's.
