Great video! I had the Max-Trac option on a 1973 Riv, GS Stage I that I owned back in the 80's in Colorado, never was in any rain to try it out. It was a nice loaded out Cinnamon colored car, I wish I had that car back now. Larry

    Pretty advanced for the time.
Also, Buicks were one of the first to offer air bags....contrary to what Mercedes says in their ads. Not standard but was available before Mercedes.

How does that traction control work? Limiting power?

Little trivia on the Max-Trac. It worked by retarding the timing when it sensed wheel spin. But it only worked with the points type distributor. So the next year when they introduced HEI as an option, you couldn't get Max-Trac if you wanted HEI. Given HEI's superiority over points, it wasn't too long before Max-Trac disappeared as an option.

I thought Oldsmobile was the first to offer airbags.

I have a 1968 Olds manual. It mentions some sort of rear anti lock brake system.

I'm pretty sure all GM offered airbags on some cars as an option at the time. But it was a rare option.

Yeah, Olds was first...I said one of the first. Buick, Olds and Caddy offered them....I believe in 1974
