Hey everybody, Did the 1972 Riviera have a tissue dispenser option from the factory? I have not seen anything about it in the literature but I know that American cars sometimes had these accessories. Is '72 a bit too late for this accessory?
You ordered/purchased accessories like that from the dealer. There was a brochure showing all Buick authorized accessories that were Available. For 72 there were 3 choices, an under dash, under seat and in combination with a litter container. Here is a picture of each from the brochure and a real life picture of the under dash unit. These are legit Buick accessories and proper for your car.
Ah, amazing! Thank you so much for the information and reference pictures. Do you know if there are real life ref pictures of the other options?
That’s all dealer installed stuff. For some reason each year accessories folder was all artwork. I don’t think factory photos exist for that stuff.
I had the tissue dispenser in my 70 GSX. My wife had some friends over for a get together. One of her friends said she thought it was kind of a girly option and it didn’t belong in a mans car like that. I couldn’t get it out fast enough.
Haha! That's funny! I suppose she has a point. I get hay fever and I kinda go in for all of those purposeful accessories. Something about each thing having a purpose. I was also looking at the little under-seat trash can. Which is basically just a plastic box!
Look at the price of the NOS! https://www.ebay.com/p/1968-72-Buic...r-Litter-Container-Very-RARE-981650/657140045
You don't see these come up often, but that said this particular accessory was very and still are not very popular so it will sit at that price for a long time. The mini console would be far more bang for your buck.
This is the one I have. Got mine a bit cheaper though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1969-6...850322?hash=item4440f93652:g:JK8AAOSwt~FdJdRj Underseat: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970s-Chev...635163&hash=item1cce4961e9:g:ZTQAAOSwfvtcVLV8 Kyle
That was one of it’s purposes but not solely that purpose, the interior had slots for plastic dividers that could be inserted to use for 8 tracks, that allowed you to customize it to your needs https://images.app.goo.gl/QnKXrMVHtj5qaABU9
