RARE OPTIONS, any idea what this was originally?

Should be interesting to see what this goes for, personally :Brow:

    1. There were 124 1971 Buick GSX's built.
    2. There were 44 1972 Buick GSX's built.
    3. The VIN number is the same as a GS of the same year. It is unknown how many GSX convertibles were built , but it is thought to be only a handfull.

    Very nice convertible.

I thought total production numbers for a GSX convertible is 0 (zero)?
    includes 1970-1972.

Is a "handful" more than zero?

    GSX Convertible?

yeah, I did not think any in 1970, however, I have no idea about 71 and 72. I am considering doing my 1970 vert in the GSX ornemenation.

That car almost sells me on it :TU: That is a very fine looking ride.

Wow, this guy doesn't know Buick Skylark models as he thinks!

Don't mean to be a smarty pants but:

    1. Why is the GS and Stage1 emblems so close together?
    2. Why is the driver's remote mirror control located so low on the door panel?
    3. Why is the power booster not cad plated?
    4. Why not get the correct air cleaner for 72? I know it is a 71 engine but at least get the right air cleaner.
    5. Why is the air cleaner stud 1.5-2" taller than the wing nut?
    6. Why is the hood catch not cad plated?
    7. Why state the most options and it does not have the stainless trunk trim or power trunk?
    8. Where is the VIN listed and why not list it on the auction?

Anyone else see items incorrect or missing?

Hope the quality of the restoration is better than the spelling in the ad.

I am starting to doubt myself now since no one has been jumping up and down or flaming the guy.

There were no convertible GSX's made in 71 and 72 were there?

Obviously not 70 (nice job though Mister Jim!) but how about 71 and 72?

I know you could get all or nothing of the previous GSX package, but convertible?

Someone say it ain't so!

I have not seen any proof that a 71, 71 or 72 GSX convertible was ever built by the factory.

I thought there was a problem with the standard GSX rear spoiler on convertibles?

I don't have the numbers in front of me but a few (very few) GS convertibles in '71/'72 did have the hood tach and or front spoiler installed (ordered) from the factory.

Funny how this is in this font:

    GS455
    STAGE ONE
    CONVERTIBLE!

But this, is in this font:

The car is being represented as a re-creation or clone car, as we do not have any original paperwork.

But, in fairness, the item description does say recreation.

In any case, they never made a GSX convertible I thought. So it would be a recreation of a recreation. :Dou:

    It's beautiful though.

    Obvious clone

When I looked at this car I never thought it was anything but a clone. I think the add states this, but who cares the car is nice and something most of us could afford and drive. i am curious where the market is for these right now.

Just the thought of a GS Ragtop is great real or not. I actually have diecast of a 1970 GSX convert does that mean they made them. It is in my office and takes me away at those times during the day when I would rather do anything but be at work.

Hope people read this ad VERY carefully

Don't get me wrong because I love the looks of this car but is this ad not very carefully worded to imply that basically because they don't have the papaerwork they will have to call it a recreation but if someone knows what they are doing they are getting a "very rare car"?

I like the $5000 non refundable wire also, for the person who pulls the trigger before everything sinks in on the ad.

Not trying to cause trouble but he could get sued couldn't he, or is the wording careful enough to avoid that.

Here's what jumped out at me:

1972 Buick RARE OPTIONS :Do No:

1972 Buick GS 455 Stage One Convertible (recreation)

Yes I see "recreation" here but at the bottom he implies this is because it is very hard to prove without the missing paperwork, as in you might be getting the real thing if you are smart.

    VIN Number: -- :Do No:

VERY RARE, HIGHLY OPTIONED 1972 BUICK
    GS455
    STAGE ONE
    CONVERTIBLE! :spank:

OUR GM EXPERTS SAID THIS IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST OPTIONED GSX'S HE HAS EVER SEEN.

So now it IS suddenly :Dou: a GSX? :spank:

    From the Buick GSX registry:
very little known about the 1971 and 1972 Buick GSX's
difficult to identify these cars without paperwork. :spank:
    3. The VIN number is the same as a GS of the same year (and he just called it a GS 455 Stage 1 a few lines above, without mentioning clone or recreation again :af: ). It is unknown how many GSX convertibles were built , but it is thought to be only a handfull.
455 motor built to 455 specs

The car is being represented as a re-creation or clone car, as we do not have any original paperwork. :spank:

IF YOU ARE AN EDUCATED BUYER  :spank: AND A SERIOUS BIDDER , YOU WILL OWN THIS CAR!

    CAN MEET AT AIRPORT :eek2:
So is this so you don't know where he lives if you buy it as an ultra rare GSX convertible missing the paperwork?

Non-Refundable $5000 WIRE Deposit due within 24 hours of auction close
