Re-post from another section. Google fails me when trying to find a new replacement tank for the '72 Electra. Seems every other model is available - where is the love for the Electra? Is the same tank used by other GM models of that year? Cheers! Bob
Would suspect it may? be a one or two year only tank. The trunk floor was flat in the first year or two of the 71-76 generation, and then it became "humped" in the middle, to support possibly some type of evaporation feature in the tank, likely for emission related reasons. I have a '73 LeSabre four door sedan tank available, PM if interested. Is your trunk floor flat??
Hey Newmexguy - thanks for the info and offer. I'm going to hold out for a new replacement if I ever find one. The original tank is not giving problems and looks fairly decent but I was going to drop it to do some underside clean up and figured while I was at it I may as well replace it. Thanks! Bob
Sure this tank is clean inside but has one dent. Believe there are processes out there to put a liner inside a corroded tank to make it usable again.
