The pic of the mirror shows the sweeps. I'm thinking they look good until you touch them and then they'll come apart like they were made of 40 year old rubber. That seems to be the norm for this stuff, which is why some of us are on the prowl for it. No need to send pics. Just try to wiggle it away from the window a little (as if you were looking for a quarter you dropped behind the rubber) and see if it cracks or not. If it cracks it's just plain worn out. If it's still soft and pliable than it's something that a few of us are needing.

Funny, I was thinking about this today. I am parting the car and will be pulling them this weekend.

---------- Post added at 12:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 PM ----------

Did you want those plastic surrounds? I'll be pulling parts this weekend and will pull these for you then. Make an offer on the price or suggest a different shipping method if you know of one less expensive, I'm open for any suggestions.

I'm not trying to make a killing on parts from this car, just trying to make it worth pulling the parts, etc.

---------- Post added at 01:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:33 PM ----------

I'm not sure what the clock delete panel is? Tell me where to find it and I'll pull it if it's good. No sweat on the carpet, belts and driver's mirror. BUUUT, I'll be using that HEI. Carpet seems ok though of course it will need a good cleaning. How does $50 for the carpet, $10 for each seat belt, $20 for the mirror and I'll throw that clock delete plate in for nothing. Plus whatever shipping is of course.

    Once again, pulling this weekend.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that because the rear window is rotted and leaks, that the trunk pan is shot? I need a piece or two from the driver's side of the trunk pan and the two body mounts on that side. Both body mounts sit on the brace/crossmember of the trunk pan. Take a look and see what shape they are and if they look good I'll give you photos of what I need cut out.

    Also need
    -radiator hold down hardware
-headlamp bezel hardware including hardware for trim rings
-I know this is an odd request but could you measure the length of the lines for the charcoal canister (to/from) and the wipers (to/from)?

Hello - The clock delete is the black buick emblem panel that's right above the radio... it's where the clock should've been had it been ordered with one. it's probably 4 inches by 3 inches in diameter.

looking at the picture, it's right above the trip ometer button above the radio...

also, does it have a stock working radio? Mines is not functioning.

Let me know what the total is with shipping to 94518.

    Thank you.

Rob, radiator hold down hardware? Do you mean the bolts and clamps? The headlamp bezel and trim ring hardware = screws, clips and springs or do you want other parts of that also? I'll get those measurements taken for you too Rob.

Sorry about not getting back to you guys over the weekend, didn't get any parts pulled either. Here's the reason:

Yes, I'm interested in the radiator hold down hardware bolts and the headlamp hardware. What shape are the headlamp bezels in, pitted? Is the trunk floor shot? Thanks

    Christian:

Pulled the Clock delete panel yesterday. You will be very happy with it. The seat belts are coming out today and I'll be checking the driver's mirror out. I noticed yesterday that the remote handle was not in the little socket. If the cable is broken or the chrome is bad, I'll let you know. As far as that carpet goes, while is actually is black, I guarantee you won't want it. Moldy, stinky and stained. Creeps me out just to think of pulling it. Looks like the guy lived in here and had no problem tossing his almost empty coke cups on the floor in the back. Stock radio is gone too. Early 80's Kenwood cassette deck in it's place. Don't know if it works.

---------- Post added at 09:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:28 AM ----------

I pulled the hold down yesterday. It is one piece that goes across the top of the radiator. Fine shape with minimal surface rust on the underside. Kept all seven bolts. By the way, the radiator is a four row if that matters. Very thick core, no apparent leaks and in desperate need of cleaning. :puzzled:

I'll get the lamp assemblies pulled today too. Tin is good, I'll look for the pitting today too and post a pic or two. The trunk is in much better shape than I thought it would be. Probably because the lower quarters have "non-stock" drain holes, other wise known as rust holes. I'll get some pics of that area up today too. Go ahead and send or post pics of the areas you need.

Need you to check on another piece for me if you can. I need the plastic cover that goes under the steering column and holds the vent. It's screwed into the bottom of the dash. Mine is destroyed and held on with 3 of the 8 or so screws.

It's black and I believe in good shape. I'll check the next time I'm over there. How does $25 sound? Plus shipping of course.

Here are pics of the driver's mirror and control:

    20120719_131413.jpg 20120719_131528.jpg 20120719_131600.jpg

It looks like the end of the mirror control stalk sat in water in the door. Since it wasn't through the hole in the door panel, I assume that is how it got corroded like that. I understand if you don't want it but can tell you that it DOES operate the mirror with no issues. As to how well it will clean up? No clue as I haven't made any attempt.

Seat belts, fan shroud, A/C condenser, 455 emblems and side mouldings all pulled. Glovebox liner and Clock delete plate pulled. Pulled the headlamp assemblies, adjusters, springs, lamp retainer rings. Sorry, no T-3's here. :ball:

The truck pan isn't too bad. There is some rust but no perforation. The area under the bottom of the spare is probably the most rusted. Feels solid but then I didn't poke at it too hard either. The pics of that area didn't come out too well so I will make another attempt at pics when I'm out there again. Here are pics of the right and left sides at the quarter panels.

    20120719_131144.jpg 20120719_131154.jpg

The pictures of the rusty area under the spare appear to show complete rust out. Those areas actually look only marginally worse than the areas of rust in these pics. Super bright sun made the camera all wonky at those angles. :Dou: I will also get those measurements you asked about. I can send you the actual parts if that would be helpful. No charge, I'll just label them and throw them in the box with the other stuff. :beer

Those of you that I've pulled parts for, please make sure you have sent me your actual UPS/FEDEX shipping addresses as these parts will go out in the next day or two.

    Thanks guys.

Still have 4 good wheel covers with the Tri-Shield, dash cluster with speed minder and trip meter, radiator overflow and windshield washer tanks in good shape, excellent bumpers with brackets plus the front grill, portholes, hood is actually perfect with minor surface rust. Chrome trim on hood is good. Turn signals, side markers and tail lamps are excellent. Tail lamp surrounds may or may not be spoken for, waiting for confirmation. Door handles are driver quality with minor pitting. Headliner is deteriorated with separating seams but all bows are there. Interior lamps, emblems, etc. all seem to be there. If someone can give me proper instructions to pull the dash pad, while it IS a bit brittle, it has no cracks or stains as of today and looks great.

Except for the compressor, the A/C system seems complete and intact if anyone is interested in parts from it such as condenser, heat exchanger, hoses, etc..

This is going to the scrapper when I'm finished pulling parts. Likely the end of next week or so after I have the engine/trans out.

I will have to pass on the side view mirror. The one I have is in the same condition as that one. I will take the clock delete panel and the seat belt set as agreed to zip code 94518. Regarding the carpet, I had planned on taking it to the coin op car wash. Any luck in saving it that way? If so, give me a price with it included. Thanks Christian
