To be honest I believe most of the people that own 71's would rather have the microfilm found. Both of the 71 GSX's that I have owned/still own had original docs that proved the cars, however unless you have both types of buildsheets you cannot determine exactly how the cars were optioned out. For instance my blue 71 GSX has the original Fisher Body "Body Shop Inspection" sheet, so I can prove it is an X, but the car was dismantled when I got it, so I cannot prove certain options. Now by going through the parts that came with the car, and doing some detective work, like checking the date codes, I have figured out the majority of the options, but it still would be nice to know everything. I have no idea, we didn't get to that yet I was looking for alternatives to the silver soldering/acid etching proceedure. The way it stands, i just keep sending them money every month for the work:spank: . They blasted and powder coated my frame for about $900.00 I think which seemed reasonable. I will ask for a quote on doing the bezels and get back to you. Its going to be in the new year sometime althoughray: . I have my original window sticker, protecto plate and all the sale paperwork for my stage 1 Ragtop since I got it from the original owner. I would love to see the microfiche show up to get even more info. With as big a deal as musclecars have been for the last 20 years don't you think it would have surfaced by now? I do. The only scenario is if someone doesn't know what they have or its mixed up with something and laying undiscovered in some car enthusiasts stash. I think its a long shot for sure. Glad that the 70 stuff was purchased though...
