Adjust the choke rod so that the choke opens fully, or eliminate the secondary lock out tab.

    I agree with Larry.

I always eliminate the secondary lock out tab on all of my builds, unless customer specifically wants it. By design, it prevents the secondary from opening if the choke is engaged at all.

Now on the choke, after your engine is warmed up, does the choke open fully, or does it stay engaged? If it stays engaged, then you may need to bend the rod so it is all the way open warm, or replace your choke coil spring.

If the choke is open and you still have the secondaries not opening, then toss that lock out tab, or at least make sure it isn't stuck. You need to take the plate off the passenger side to get to the lockout to take it off.

The choke must be FULLY OPEN for the secondaries to work with the lock-out in place. Nothing wrong with that set-up. Folks get into trouble quickly by blocking the heat crossover in the intake which keep the factory choke for heating up and working correctly. A defective choke coil or WAY out of adjustment ends up with the same result....then choke never full opens and secondaries don't work due to the lock-out. The cure is not removing the lockout, it's making sure the choke works correctly and moves the lockout out of the way when the engine is fully warmed up.....Cliff
