Unlikely, unless your cylinder is more than a decade old. I still have a partial MAPP-gas cylinder, but it's ancient. They quit making real MAPP gas when Fido was a pup.

You probably have MAP-Pro which is NOT the same thing as genuine MAPP gas. If the Federal Trade Commission wasn't in the pocket of Big Business, they'd be sued for unfair business practices--deceptive marketing. At any rate, MAPP or MAP-Pro isn't hot enough to do any good. Nice for soldering copper pipe, though.

Just plan to pull the engine. That way you can clean-out the oil pan, replace the timing chain 'n' sprockets, re-seal the whole engine, and check the condition of the bores.

    Yup.

Deep Creep is the same thing as any other Seafoam product. Buy a bottle of plain ol' ordinary Seafoam, pour it into a refillable aerosol can that you can pressurize with compressed air. Or just drip it on instead of spraying.

(Look at the MSDS for the various Seafoam products. Last time I checked, they all used the same sheet. But it has been a few years.)

My MAPP gas cylinder was bought at Sears in the mid to late 90s. I haven't made any more progress on this project other than trying to buy a set of big valve heads as my plan A.
