I'll post pics of all WG's below. They are all in "driver" condition. Chrome is not bad with only a few flaws in each wheel. I tried to capture all flaws in the pics. These wheels will be nice enough for a driver if the centers are re-painted black, but not for a Concours/frame off show car. $250 each plus shipping -firm. I will only sell if all 4 are purchased either separately or all together. Jeff is first since this is his thread. Todd is next, etc.. I have received several PM's regarding these wheels, but we are going to follow the order of this thread. If they don't all sell, they will go back into storage. Here is the 2/20/70:
Forgive the delay. These were in the garage rafters above a non-running car. The December 69 wheels were slightly rougher than I remembered. The first I would describe as acceptable for a decent driver. It has a little curb rash, but not enough to bend the rim out of round. The chrome is washed out in a few areas, and there are three pits the worst of which is shown. The second is quite a bit rougher. No curb rash on this one, but the chrome is washed out pretty badly. There is pitting around the rim for about 180 degrees of the diameter. Pictures of March 31 1970 wheel forthcoming.
The March wheel has fairly nice chrome with minimal fading/washing. It does however have numerous small pits which are pictured. I also have a set of four pre-WG wheels dated 1 14 70, three of which are nicer than any I have pictured. Those three are currently on my GSX, the fourth is in rough condition.
I also have a May 1 1970 wheel which is about as close to perfect as any used wheel I have ever seen. I will only part with this wheel as a trade for an April 9 1970 wheel in equivalent condition.
Thank You James !!! I met with James and now have a set of 4.... I have left a few for some other needy folks... Todd, your up next... Jeff
Jeff - it was great to finally meet you. Thanks for the quick transaction. The 3/23/70 wheel is spoken for by Jeff. Here is my impression of the next in line/interested members: dentman/Todd is up. I think he wants two wheels, but may be interested in Jim's wheels. Todd, please confrm what you want. Rich Johns wants the 2/20/70, and is after Todd. Jason wants one wheel, and is after Rich. Jim Jones wants my 4/9/70, and is after Jason.
James, Great meeting you both today as well.... I look forward to meering up at the Texas Nats soon... All, I had the opportunity to personally view all (4) wheels.... I can say condition wise, they all stack up very similar to one another.... James' pictures are very accurated and described well... I don't think anyone would be dissappointed. Jeff
James I'll take wheels 3-31 and 2-20. Just let me know shipping cost and will payal you the total. Will not need 7.0 wheels. Thanks Todd
I am gonna wait till all the dust settles here on the correct date codes and nice condition wheels. When everyone is taken care of in that regard can I please be first in line for the poor condition any date 7.0's or WG's? Thanks, Fritz
It appears my earlier reply (#5) was not viewed as a statement if interest. I regret that I was not clear as to my intent.
Jim, I didn't read all the posts just looking for leftovers if you are doing the same by all means you are first Sir.
