I hope so, I hate to hear about bad auctions, it make people leary about buying stuff. BTW Duane, I just PM'd you about getting an inner fender repaired.
...And 3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...RK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=300093910566&rd=1,1 Guess the $3400 sale is bringing the others out of the basements and attics of North Carolina.
How come in the "Heading" for the 70 carb it says, "Not NOS"? o No: In his description it is made to sound like it's the real thing. Brian
Brian, I'm pretty sure that's done so it will show up in a wider search. A lot of people, myself included, search eBay and type "nos buick" in the search box. Smart selling, that's what that is.
If you notice, the 71 carb is missing the secondary metering rods and hanger. I wonder if the seller realizes this.
It's the real thing, but not NOS. He's pretty clear that it's a used carb. By using NOS in his description, his auction gets picked up by more searches. Ebay has been coming down on this "spamming" practice lately. Wouldn't be surprised if they remove the auction and have him re-list it without the word "not" in the title.
The seller emailed me the date code; 2454. So it's a service replacement from late 1974. He should have mentioned this in his auction.
Maybe you should ask the question on Ebay instead of email? Then all potential bidders may see the reply.
I did ask the question through Ebay but it's up to the seller whether he wants the question and answer to show in the auction. Guess he didn't.
Brian, there is a restamped/renumbered one on EBay right now, it must've just came up as I've never seen this one before. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=260099507187&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=016
Come on now!!! ou: ou:    This is absurd! $5300 for a USED carb. Just when you think youve seen it all
On his listing it says that an 0150 date code would be correct for a GSX, but I thought that GSXs weren't produce until March? Would they build a carb a month and half before a production run starts?
