selling an original 1970 skylark rear axle, drum to drum. i pulled this from a running driving car last summer. it was in good working condition with no leaks or noise. i do not know the gear ratio, but it is not posi. i think it is a 7.5 but i am not sure. axle has mild surface rust that will easily clean up with sos pad or light chemical cleansing. comes with the factory upper and lower control arms. if needed, i can provide the casting number, date codes etc. photos available upon request. local pick up available in anthony new mexico, or i can strap it to a pallet and ship it to you. $125.00 warren 915-478-3259
If you had a couple of pics then we could help you identify it. After 38 years it could have been swapped out at some point for a 71 to 72 8.5 rear which would be even better.
i pulled this out of an original 58000 mile 4 door that i parted out last summer. it appeared to be original. anyway, i have sent pics to another member, let me know if your still interested. warren
pics have been sent, still waiting for reply. sometimes i wonder, why does it take so long to make a decision. warren
Usually no answer means no go...Usually...BUT not always...lol. I think most people are hoping it is not original and is a 8.5 10 bolt rear. You really should give a location because the people in your area are more likely to buy aince shipping is very heavy. Jim I would like to know where in the country you are...I buy cores to build. I always would really like a ratio ... If the tubes are fairly clean you can take some sand paper of a air sander and clean the tube off on the (what would be ) bottom of the axle tube on the driver side for a a letter suffix code. This will tell you the ratio that is in the diff. Jim
i checked the casting number on this axle and it is a 8.2. i am located in anthony new mexico. thanks for the response. warren
