Jamie Carnes May the Torque be with you.

This info may already be available elsewhere in "Sparky's Corner," but if not, I thought this might be helpful to someone.

Recently, I attempted to purchase new front turn signal sockets for a 1970 GS455. I bought some at a local parts house only to find that they did not resemble my originals very closely. My local NAPA dealer allowed me to take a look at a catalog containing pictures of a wide variety of bulb sockets and I was able to locate a part that bears a pretty close resemblance to the original. The sticker on the box flap shows part number LS6448 (the number on NAPA's web site is ECHLS6448). Wiring color is different on one wire; however, the function and fit seem to be fine. If you are searching for front turn signal sockets (I think these should work for 68-72, but I can't swear to that), have a look at the link below. NOTE: the web page states that this is a "Back-Up Light Socket," and it may be used as that in some applications. Regardless, it functions as intended on a 1970 GS455. I have installed two of them and tested them in all combinations of lights, parking lights, and signals on and off.
