I'm loving this thread and even though its not mine i'm pretty excited to see her slowly bring it back:)
It's also another kinda barn find 70 GS that makes me wonder if there are any left? and a Stage1 street brawler to boot!

Believe me, I've thought about it! The good thing is I work in the service department at a dealership, so I have made some connections of a local buick enthusiast through my parts department who is wanting to help as well. Turns out my parts guy had a 70 Olds A body until just recently, so he's jacked lol. I'm gonna work on her tonight, getting the engine ready to pull!

If you haven't already, look up part numbers for stuff you might need and the country wide dealer database will tell you if whatever you're looking for is available.

You'd be very surprised what's sitting on a shelf somewhere collecting dust.

Keep in mind that a car doesn't need to be concours restored to be enjoyed...

Here are some more pictures from today! Had the boyfriend helping me, but he wanted me to tell you guys that he only helped with 2 bolts lol! I was amazed! I started loosening the bolts on the water pump and there was super clean coolant dripping out of it. Everything I've seen says that this engine is super clean on the inside. The rockets are super clean for sitting in a field for so long!! Guys, I'm so frickin excited!!!!!

While I own a 70 Stage 1 4 speed with pretty paint on it, I also drive this wreck. So I can really appreciate the patina that your car has. This one is a 70 GS-455 with a 4 speed in it. Ironically, the car I seem to have the most fun driving too. makes regular trips to the grocery store, Home Depot, etc. The looks I get driving it are priceless.

So rad. I would just try to clean it up and get it going as your dad had it..
You should start a build thread in the members rides section..

I love this. I have some dog dishes and am not sure on rims and tires yet. How do you like those "new" wide oval radials?

IIRC, that date lines up well with the car. With any luck, your Dad knew enough to swap over the original Stage 1 heads to the new engine. You won't know until you tear it down, but fingers crossed.
