Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm taking on a very special and challenging project. My dad had a 70 455 Stage 1 GS from when he was in college that he kinda let sit in a pasture for 30 ish years. He recently passed away and my brothers gave me the OK to start restoring his car. It's gonna take a lot, but I'm hoping to get it back to how dad had her in college. Hoping to find some advice here for along the way :) ps,my name is jesi, only girl in family of 6, dad passed his love for mechanics on to me :)

I welcome you....and I would also start a trend here with your restore simply because I see that its a labor of love and not about money for you............

I will Pay it Forward, I have a few parts that maybe you could use, and when I return home in June I will message you and see if I have anything you can use , and if you're willing just pay the shipping, nothing wanted for the part........

Maybe other BUICK guys here will join me??????

I have a friend who is working on a 1970 sky lark. Got it early Sept. last year I know he is a hyper fellow so every free minute he has he is doing some thing to it.

When I first saw it the seats and carpet were out and the floor was really solid, the trunk how ever not so much, I don't think it could have held a wiffle ball it was so rotted out.
Rear quarters could have been saved with a bit of metal work but he opted to buy the complete quarters along with the trunk floor pan.
So some body parts are on the aftermarket for the 1970 sky lark.

I haven't been there since April first but drive by to go next door where I leave our LeSabre some times.
Yesterday he had his garage door open and I saw he had the body all in primer now and the frame painted no front clip on yet.

Good luck with your project. Really nice cars those Skylarks.

    :D Al

Wow, thank you everybody for the awesome response! I'm located in northern idaho, right next to the Washington border. I have more pictures, I will post them as I can. I need to get them onto my tablet. I'm very excited to start this project and bring back to life what dad once had

Welcome from Florida. I'll be following this thread and look forward to more pics and progress reports. Good luck. Maybe you could bring it to the GS Nationals in Bowling Green Kentucky some day when it's finished. :)

The rear end was locked up when we first moved her, so had to remove the drive line first off. Not sure the last time a wrench was used on this car, but it was an exciting moment for me
