Does anyone reproduce the correct 1970 positive battery cable with the plastic block or plastic insulator that goes into the bracket mounted to the block ?

M&H makes the correct spring ring cable. Its quite nice. You'll have to send them your original block and they can install it on the cable for you. How close are you to installing the cable on your car?

I want to get it installed soon. Holding off putting on the exhaust manifold on that side until I get the battery cable and bracket on.

I've used M&H on my 70 GSX Stage 1 and my 69 vert. for all cables and harnesses...
In my opinion their top notch. Nice to work with too.

Thanks - I'll take one. Please send me the info for payment. My old block cracked and broke along where the small wires go

I'm not sure about M & H but I do know that Lectric Limited makes there own cables here in the U.S.

    From there website:

Lectric Limited's battery cables provide the finishing touch for any original or restored GM vehicle.
These new battery cables are reproduced from the original factory blueprint specifications. Consequently, they pass all judging standards.

The Spring-Ring® and bolt-type battery cables are die-cast just as they were originally made, to give the correct appearance and durability.

Not all battery cables are created equally. All our battery cables are manufactured as originally designed and manufactured,
and meet or exceed the original manufacturer's specifications. When applicable, we make our battery cables and ground straps with the:

    1. Correct Spring-Ring® molded head with spring steel insert. Spring-Ring® is a registered trademark of Lectric Limited, Inc.

    2. Correct part number stamping.

    3. Correct cable type, gauge & color (black, red, or brown).

    4. Correct color molded terminal.

    5. Correct grommet.

That was my mistake, I confused M&H with Lectric Limted. I have these on two of my cars. Awesome reproduction. And Todd has them for a great price

Just an interesting story related here , M and H took 2 weeks to make a positive cable for my GS . The negative cable was correct , the positive cable was black and did not have the cloth section on it. The salesman told me that the cable was correct by the blueprint they used to build it. I told him it was supposed to be red , just like the factory cable that was on the car . After a 20 minute phone conversation he said if I wanted to get another cable I was to pay the shipping and switch it out for a 455 cable that was red and a larger gauge wire. After more conversation he agreed to send the cable out with a pre paid label to return the incorrect one. Next time I will buy stuff from Todd.
