1970 GSX Trunk Latch Mechanism

Was the trunk latch mechanism on the '70 X painted body color or unpainted?

Mine is painted white. Appears to have been mounted in the deck lid, and painted. Mounting bolt heads also painted.

Mount it to the decklid then paint it. The ones I have seen were not so well painted on the side toward the front.
