It'll sell in the 40's.. Bidding will be up into the 30's, then the seller will pull it and sell to the highest "phone" or "in person" offer. It's found and for sale.... should be happy another one will be saved.
Seems eBay has become more of a place to gauge value than it is to actually sell. At least when it comes to high end stuff, anyway.
I would never buy off eBay without traveling to see the car first. I know of three cars friends bought without going to see the car and they all had major issues. I mean things like body swaps and major hits that were fixed shabbily .
Agreed. I have bought a few that way myself. The last was a 70 roller from a dragway in Ohio. Supposedly very solid with complete harness and nice frame. It got here with a Swiss cheese frame, taillight harness for wiring and a radiator support that was bent like a banana from towing the car. Oh well. Live and learn.
Bidding is out of range for a car that definitely has a lot of hidden issues under a cheap paint job and the owner doesn’t reply to any messages. Hope someone gets the car and it’s nicer than I’m thinking....and the numbers all actually match. I have no time for games.
I don't blame you. Sellers like this infuriate me and are most of what's wrong with eBay. Like George mentioned earlier in this thread, he's most likely casting a line to gauge interest and then the sale will happen off site. Or it's probably already in the works.
It hit the big time now ! https://barnfinds.com/farm-find-197...tm_medium=email&utm_source=Newsletter+(Daily)
They're all wondering the same thing as well: how come none of the Stage 1 specific parts have been verified. That's simple - the seller is MIA.
Brett, I agree with you 100%. I also think people never put a reserve on cars anymore because people always bid a crazy high number and once they see what the reserve is they retract the bid and say it was a mistake. You also see to many people back out of the sale after the auction is over. eBay now is almost all about people playing games (Buyers and Sellers) and not really about selling. Market is a bit nuts right now.
Yup! It's become a shady place for shadier people. I don't even really bother searching for parts anymore because it's saturated with crap and reproduction junk.
Looks like some serious shill bidding happening. A couple guys have bid the price up repeatedly right in a row even though there's no reserve.
