    It is a scam,
He sent the vin, Chris ran it and it came up on a car sold at auction at a higher price. I just got a notice from eBay that it was a scam and pulling the auction

Yep, scam a lama ding dong. Roy, the one you are thinking of is a 72 gs350 convert, but I never made it up north to see it. This 70 sold at a Leake Auction for $33k last year.

Let me guess, they were these, but with the lic plate edited out.

But yet his dad has owned the car for the last twenty years......

I asked him about that, and he said that his dad had tried to sell it and had it listed at several dealers. I asked him to send me a pic of it with a current newspaper or a pic with a WA lic plate (since he said it was in WA), no response to that request.

:>). Here it is. I was going to check it out for a fellow board member, but the seller didn't have the car available for inspection and then never called me back, and things changed on he prospective buyer's end and he found another car, so I never went to see it.
