I need to replace the shocks on my 70 GSX. It is a Stage 1 plus a little build on the engine with a stock transmission. What type and brand of shock would be best for my application. I do not plan on racing the car just liting the tires up once in while.

    Thanks Jim

I bought stock replacements for my 69 GS 400 and they are woefully inadequate.

I use Monroe Sensa Trac gas shocks and paint them GM shock grey. They ride pretty nice

Yes that is my concern getting the right shocks. The old ones are 47 years old technology. There has to be a better choice. Thanks for the reply Jason. I will check them out.

IMG_0563.JPG Jim I have these GM DELCO (Gas) shocks That I had on my 72 Stage1. I just installed Vintage DELCO Trac PAC Drag shocks . So I never really rode many hours on these. Since my car is not fully finished. I purchased these new from Year one 12 yrs. ago . They do ride very nice. I would expect Quality very good. Much better than Spiral knock offs . That are available today. They are painted Original GM blue/teal which is what the 70 Nova / Impala fleet color was . I over sprayed them black on the rear shocks like the factory did.

I had good success with the Gray KYB as well. Very good ride.

    Steve,

Thanks for the offer but I am wanting to find something I can get my hands on quickly. So I am looking for something I can pick up locally, hopefully tomorrow!!!!! My car has been off the road for 3 years and I am desperately trying to get it to a car show next weekend. And of course everything that can go wrong is going wrong. I will look for the KYB locally as I could not find the Monroes posted above. Thanks all for the comments and help. wish me luck to I need it. Am I looking for KYB numbers KG 5504 and KG 4513???

    Jim
