Those tags and codes listed in assembly manual is for the ASSEMBLY. Not the individual code on the bare part. They had that paper tag so the guy with the GED on the assembly line could identify the assembly. He did not care about that stamp. The guy at the Moraine plant with the High School diploma would be the one concerned with the stamp.
I was able to check my Aquamist car today which is a power drum brake car with the original bleeder screw master. And the code is......drum roll please.......... CT!
Went over to Ryan's to look at the master cylinder in the show car. Original manual drum brake car with the same master and the code is.........." CT".......Car was built first week of March.
When I get back to the garage I keep the Aquamist car in, I'll get the casting numbers off mine. You know, come of think of it, I have a box of original bleeder screw masters in my basement. Maybe I'll do a small mining operation and see if I cant find that box after dinner
This thread got me to thinking about the Barn Find 69 master cylinder. Power drum brakes. Has bleeders and .......... CT......... Code.
Looks like 5452810. Kinda what I can make out in the picture I originally posted. I clearly need a wire brush.
