1970 GS 455 Brake Booster Vacuum Line Clip Up or Down?

    I'm installing the vacuum line from the intake manifold to the brake booster. I purchased a used setup from Ebay as the originals were non-existent. There is a clip with a tab that bolts to the rear of the driver's side head and clips onto the metal portion of the vacuum line. Which way does the clip opening face - up or down. I've tried both ways and it doesn't quite sit right. My clip may be bent or incorrect but I wanted to start with the correct direction. My service manual appears to show the opening facing down. The fit is closer with with the opening up. Thanks, Tom

    Thanks for the pic Jim. Almost looks like the locating tab is 10:00-ish in the photo. Based on your photo, my bracket must be bent. Thanks, Tom

    There were a lot of different clips and tubes. They were different for different engines, years, etc.
