I wonder what it needed? It's south west of pittsburg so the weather isn't terrible there. The interior is listed as mint original? Minimal rust repair and a repaint? Maybe a fresh coat of red on the engine?
I had to reread the ad. I didn’t realize he had it restored. Yeah, from the pics a saw a few years ago, it looked like a really nice car. Crazy.
I'd love to Bill - I'll get another someday, but hopefully either a nice original or one that's "done". One of my biggest regrets in life was taking my old one apart but I was young, dumb, and ambitious and one of my biggest dissapointments was not getting it back together before the s*** hit the fan in life and I had to sell it. Of course I'd also gotten to the realization that the parts I had for it were worth darn close to what the car was done. Really, besides the frame, trans./rear, and amazingly all the GSX specific parts (hood, trunk, etc.) there were very few redeeming factors or useable parts from the car, but it drove fantastic. After a rough journey through several owners and lots of the parts being pillaged along the way and even the orig. build sheet getting separated (I'm trying to track it down, but fortunately I'd made copies), it is finally being restored right now by a board member and I don't think it's a secret, but not sure if he'd want his name out there. I do have an NOS pair of quarter decals I've promised to donate to the cause once he gets it to that point.
Dano, I wanted to buy your X when you had it advertised here, but I couldn’t afford it at the time. I would have put it back together and drove the wheels off it. As much as I would love a GSX 4 speed, this car doesn’t really do much for me. When a car is frame offed, it makes it financially unobtainable and unable to be driven and enjoyed. I’ve seen pics of this car before the resto, and it looked really good. I’m very surprised he went this direction with it.
