No doubt you were looking at parts value. I parted a '70 GS455 convertible about 5 years ago, and it was a better resto candidate than this albeit less complete. You're smarter than the average bear Jason...

The Olds never really sold at 300K. This blue GS is definitely being shill bid, or scam bid. I was watching the black 'vert, cuz' it's a lot like mine and I was curious if somebody would BIN it at the 40K. At 30K, the black one seems like a deal, IF it's not a scam. I've got over double that in my car. The truth is...I'm going to lose $ on all my cars when I sell, easily 1/2 of what I have in them. It's just the way it is now, with the influx of modern muscle and older guys who own older muscle selling off. I know a LOT of guys with 5-10 REALLY nice cars. They are all selling off cars now. The other truth is, you should not buy or keep for an investment.

That is the plan. But, he would have to call me back to get the address from him. No call, day 2.

X2. $18,900.00 is the high bid shown with 11 hours left.

    future reference sake:

    $7,500 to 10,900 feedback is 1308

    $10,900 to 18,800 feedback is 254

    $18,900 to _ _ _ _ _ _ _feedback is 703

Either Im wrong and someone is going to make a $16,500 profit or its a scam. None of this makes any sense to me. Does someone know something I don't?

Just spit balling here but it could be that there are more then one bidder and they don't intend on paying for it.
However this is EBay and if you place a bid you are required to pay. those are the rules.

If one were to pull the hood latch the hood would implode. 2K tops. Imagine what you can't see underneath. Woof.

Maybe his smokin hot sexually deprived 21 year old sister, right off the farm comes with it.

Then it would make more sense.

LI listed two cars on ebay in the past two years and both had non paying bidders on multiple auctions. I think it happened 2-3 times per auction before I actually had a real bidder. There seems to be a bunch of guys on there that get off on winning the bid on a car and not paying. They get some sort of satisfaction from the high of winning the bid and then making up some excuse. Some of the excuses are horrifying family related stuff that I cannot even imagine joking about. Anyway, I learned if you want to sell something on there you have to list it with a fixed price buy it now and immediate $500 deposit to click the buy it now. I'm just relisting my old iPhone at the moment due to another non paying bidder.

You would think right? But you would be surprised how many bidders bid on a car with no intention whatsoever of following through on the sale. Ive had to list cars two and three times to get a live one. Its frustrating because the car never seems to do as well on the relist.

I'd bet you'd eventually get tired of that and put her out to the curb:grin:

The bidder with 1308 has 20 plus retractions in the last 6 months. So...he's definitely an NPB or a shill bidder. The other bidder that bid like 15 times...he's a shill bidder. You would have to be a moron to keep knocking up the bid against yourself days early. Anytime you see a line of bids like that you should realize that. You shoot your load on the last day, as close as you feel comfortable with. Sometimes if a 1970 Hemi challenger is started at a 5K bid then peeps will take 15 swipes at the low end just for fun, 'cuz they know they will never win it for $6200.00.

After 5 days of requesting a call from this zero feedback seller I cancelled the bid. 30K should at least get a phone call from the seller to discuss the car I think.? Strange way to scam/sell a car if that's your goal here.

Happens a lot more than people think that is for sure. Knock on wood we have had good luck buying and selling via Ebay! But sometimes you have to think beyond your dreams and realize who you are dealing with , that is for sure!

It may be a real car but you have to help the buyer , not kick yourself to the curb..
