Found this while digging around on some auction sites I frequent. Open it up. There's tons of pictures. 20K is the starting bid. Without seeing personally if there any way to determine if its a true stage 1 car? https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=330&acctid=8134
No way to verify 100% without inspecting it, or seeking additional information. The listing does state "Verified to be authentic Buick Stage 1", perhaps a question about said verification would provide some proof. I would assume if a protect-o-plate were with the car, it would have been pictured. It is an early car with the VIN listed, so a request to Sloan Museum for the original invoice information could be made to verify option A-1. The only thing that gives me pause is the blue paint on the engine. It indicates that at the very least, the top end has been repaired/modified/replaced. Otherwise the car looks unmolested.
20K is near top dollar since it needs bodywork, paint and interior . Ask him to post a picture of the trans tag on the passenger side and the partial VIN on the trans on the drivers side just above where the pan mates to the trans. Also since it appears to have maybe 75-76 low compression engine parts based on the blue paint, I would check to see if the block has been changed. Ask him to post pictures of the cleaned deck on the block between the first two spark plug holes for the drivers side and the step behind the intake manifold which gives the block casting numbers in raised letters.
I sent request for additional information and pictures as several has posted. Guess we will see what comes of it. The blue block caught my attention as well, but I only know what I have read about Stage 1 cars here.
No firm replies to questions about the car. No new pictures. But obviously someone believes it's a real Stage 1 car. One bid starting at $20,100 so far
