Looking for any info/leads on where to teack this down. Car is a '69 Special, but I believe it shares this same trim with the GS California.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

One pic is of similar trim from a '65 or something, another shows the trim highlighted, and another shows it full view.

68 or 69 GS California, Colorado or special. I have a set but I dont know if I want to get rid of it since it is hard to find and I have a GS California.

Good luck with your search, I have been looking for the same for my 68 GS California. I need the two pieces on the drivers door. Question, how do you get the pieces off with out wrecking them? Maybe we can work together on finding what we need.

Thx, I forgot about the Colorado too. One more option to throw in the search bar. Any chance you can send some pics of how it fits or mounts up? My car never had the trim on it when I got it and I can't find any decent pics of it on or (better yet) off the vehicle to see how it's formed. I really can't figure out how exactly it fits.

    Thanks again,
    Dennis

Sure thing, I'd be happy to share any info/leads I can find!

I'm honestly wondering if it's something I can even cut/form out of stainless sheet. My CNC machine is out of commission right now while it sits in storage and will stay there till I get my new shop sorted out. I do still have some metal brakes in the garage as well as a means to form/roll some gentle curves.

Also wondering if the same year(s) Chevelle pillar trim might fit... although that appears just as elusive.

On the 3 pieces of trim on THE DOOR - it is "snapped" on over the metal frame. Similar to how a drip rail stainless is attached.

BUT - since it's aluminum it is VERY EASY to damage if you aren't extremely careful when removing.

Many sets of this trim are ruined by whoever removed them. Dings and scratches in aluminum are not a problem but when they warp and bend/distort these aluminum pieces during removal they are ruined.

As far as the quarter glass pieces - upper piece usually held on by a couple screws sort of hidden from sight once installed but relatively easy to remove. The pillar piece is usually held on with a couple clips.....you have to remove the interior plastic post trim piece to aid in removing this piece. Again, fairly easy.

It's the DOOR PIECES that are hard to remove.

The door window pieces should be generic....'69-72 GM Abody Post Coupe trim pieces. And I suspect the quarter post piece is generic as well. Top of quarter glass may be unique or have less interchange

BUT.....the stuff is very hard to find

Hey Entropy, That's my car in your picture, Black 69 GS Clone, I just pulled rear quarter windows out of a 1969 Post Olds Cutlass & they are the same, but the Hollander interchange showed only 1968-1969 Cutlass & Skylark the same on the rear quarter windows, Not Chevelle or Pontiac. Buick called it the W6 option Custom window frame moldings on Special Deluxe & GS California post cars. I think Oldsmobile & Chevy called it B90 trim... So the door trim maybe the same 68-72 on all the post cars but I think the rear quarter window trim is 68-69 Skylark & Cutlass only. Member Marxjunk has parted a few post cars you may PM him & see what he has. Go onto www.2doorpost & look at the 1969 Cutlass W31 top of their website, You may put an ad in the parts wanted section there too. PM me if you have any questions... Thanks, Keith....

You wanna know something funny? I'm assuming you just found that example pic of the Black 69 on the web? My Buddy owns that car. Its in my shop right now. And it needs the drivers, quarter "B" pillar trim piece, cause its all wanged up.
I think all 68 to 72 "A" body post cars will be the same, every piece except. quarter window, top run and bottom run. I think 68/69 Cutlass is the same trim as 68/69 Skylark. At least I know for sure the glass is. we just put Olds glass in this one.

(I have one piece of the door trim that looks like it was glued to the door. If that is correct I can see how they would be a bitch to remove. Thanks for the Olds lead, I have a friend with a bunch of Olds stuff. Will check it out.
