2 Door car. The front passenger side window has become wobbly in that it moves side to side with little to no pressure. Once the window is rolled all the way up it is fine and in the correct position. The issue is if you crack the window 1" open it can tilt rearward and hit the back window as the door is closed.

The window track has 3 contact points. 1 in the middle with the power arm pivot and then the front and rear pivot points. The front pivot point is what appears to be moving about 1" on the short 6" horizontal track in the front.

Is there an adjustment or nut to tighten or lock this into place to stop this movement? I cant seem to find any and really do not want to disassemble everything to have a closer look.

Any help is appreaciated. I have a service manual for 1968, but in 68 the front windows had a wing window and track so the info in that book does not apply to the 1969 window/door.

See the attached photos and short video.

Yes, front to rear. I just added some photos and a video to the original post.

This seems to just be a design flaw. I never noticed it on the drivers side but upon further investigation it is the same way. I guess I am too used to modern vehicle layouts working so smoothly.

Funny you should bring this up. My 69 has horrible rattles and I too am running into the same problems and just started to mess with it. I have my 68 service manual and my 69 fisher body book. I've been going through them and it's still a mystery. Everything I've read is pretty vague when it comes to the power windows in the manuals. I was thinking of just getting whole new motors and regulators but that has it's issues as well. Supposedly the power windows on the 69 are the same as the 70-72 as far a regulators go. My driver side glass has a chip in it so when I replace the glass and put the new door panels on I could adjust everything correctly and correct the rattles. That's the plan anyway. Our cars are 51 yrs old and all the parts have wear and tear even if the parts look ok . The plastics, nylon, rubber, rivets, rollers are rotted, corroded, brittle and just need to be replaced re-greased since most have never been maintained. Mine go up and down nice but man everything rattles from the lock linkages to when the windows up,down or in the middle. I can get them to quite down a bit if I leave them up about a inch from the door panel. The rear window are fine. I just pulled the drivers side door panel and see what is going on and what needs to be ordered parts wise. I agree about the design flaw but I don't know who else was inside the door. By the looks of the broken door panel clips and mismatched screws and no water shield someone hacked it together.I'll see what I come up with but I'm just as baffled as you right now. Maybe we can come up with some answers.

You more than likely have a bad roller.

The rollers all seem fine, the issue is they are rolling too much! I have concluded this is just a poor design. Unless there is some guide track that is supposed to stop this and it just magically disappeared.

The glass shouldn't move like that

I don't have the same issues your having. Where all the rattles are coming from seems to be the slack in the rollers and the track the ride in. Too much slack between the rollers and the vertical channels. When the windows 1/2 way down and you grab the window and shake it it rattles like crazy. There looks to be a rather new roller on the back channel but it rattles as well. Weather it's correct or not or a universal and not specific to our cars I don't know yet. I'll investigate tomorrow. The first picture you posted looks like the roller isn't in the track? I'll look at mine in the am.

I looked at the video and I was wrong. It's in the track.

The roller on the back vertical channel is what holds it in place. I can't find anything aftermarket for the 1969 Skylark/GS door glass hardware. Your correct about the design I'm gonna figure something out. I can't take the rattles the back roller is a replacement but it's such poor quality and nylon roller is very loose. That's all I got. I'm going to see if 69 chevy/olds or pontiac mechanisms will work.
