The frame has been powder coated, and I believe Jimmy bought all the parts needed to assemble it and that they are new. We were going to assemble the frame into a ready to go rolling chassis but had no time to do it.

I don't know what is shown on the auction, but Jimmy has ALL the rare parts purchased for the car, including original Hurst Wheels, trim rings, center caps center cap decals, "Fly Eye" air cleaner, B4B, Period correct Scatter Shield, ALL the correct 1969 (not 70) Motion Emblems, Hurst Emblem, new front & rear seat covers installed on the frames, etc etc etc......................................
.....and PS, the body is in really nice shape and he has documentation.

This would be a beautiful car when finished.

Just talked to Duane and he wanted me to post that the correct l o n g ladder bars that replace the lower control arms in the rear are there too. Powder coated the correct yellow and ready to bolt on. It sounds like a lot of this car will just be assembly as most of the restoration is done.

It would look nice parked between the prototype GSX and the prototype GNX!

I would love to see the Motion car restored and at the 2019 GS Nationals for the 50th anniversary of the 69's!

I didn't see the car mentioned on the auction website, is it for sure part of the auction?

It is part of the auction, talked to auction people couple days ago but seems like its scattered everywhere and only 3 pis of it on auction.zip. I would think they would have to update that to make sure parts belonging to car went with car. Would also think they would have to sit the body back on frame since usually at auctions everything needs to be removed pretty quickly.

My concern would be with all thats going on at the auction that the buyer of the motion car would get all the parts needed to complete this car. with parts all over the place some could get gone that are impossible to find.

My guess is also that if there was enough proof that this was even a true motion car to begin with it would have been restored years ago. Or if it is real. which nobody can seem to document, as mentioned, where's the rest of the car?

Please excuse my ignorance, but exactly what is a "motion car"? Would someone please explain this.

Motion Performance was a high performance shop in Baldwin, NY. Back in the sixties they teamed up with Baldwin Chevrolet and created the famous Baldwin/Motion cars. You could buy them through the dealership with a warranty. They mainly did just Chevrolets but they did do some other cars. There is one documented '70 GSX and this '69 GS400 that received the Motion package. I thought the '69 had been documented like the GSX.

Is Nick aware of this sale?

Mike the 69 might be documented I am not sure, I've never seen any confirmation of it. There has always seemed to be way more certainty surrounding the 70 GSX car.

If you guys would have read my above post you would have read it is documented.

Jimmy has a letter from Rosen/Motion regarding documentation, just like the 70 GSX. That's how the GSX got it's documentation, by following the same steps that Jimmy did with his 69 car.

as far as why it was never restored..................that is an entirely different story.
