I'm looking for a replacement glove box lock casing for my 1969 GS400. Not sure if the 68 is the same or not. I actually ordered a reproduction one from one of the new-old stock companies and it wasn't correct. Since the latch/lock assembly is located on the dash and not the glove box door, the catch mechanism faces the lock. Attached are a couple pictures of the one I have now. It latches, but the raised area on the facing, that locks it into the notch on the dash board is really worn down and will not positively hold it in place when the nut is tightened. Do any of you folks parting out 68-69 Skylarks have one of these? Oh... and while I'm on the subject of looking for used parts, I'm also looking for the plastic AC duct piece that goes under the driver's side of the dash. My works OK, but has the mounting tabs cut off, and I thought that if I could find one, I would replace it. I can post a picture of it tonight if needed. If anyone knows what the GM part numbers are for these items or knows where I can get them from, I would be much obliged. I really need the lock casing to get the dash put back together, as it is easier to get to with the glove liner box out of the car. Thank you!
Here is a couple pictures of that AC duct piece. Excuse the black tape on it... that was my failed attempt to cover the holes where something was cut off. I'm assuming those were mounting tabs.
