    Hello
    I am hoping that someone on this site can help me with deciphering the fisher body tag on this car;
    In particular I would like to know whether it was built in the third week in May 1967, (05C) or the third week in May 1968 in Kansas City? I know that it was delivered to the dealer at the end of May 1968. Does it take a week for the newly built car to be processed through the system or does it take a year?
    The tag reads;
    05C
    ST 68 - 46487
    Body BK02596
    Trim TR 413
    Paint T8
    The Vin No. is 464878X146721
    In particular I would like to know what the "8" means on the paint code. The car has a green vinyl roof and does the 8 signify this and I know that "T" is for the colour Desert Beige.
    I have worked it out that the 413 trim code is medium gold and dark gold and the current trim look more like a green to me? Does the Vin number give you details about the engine transmission, seat configuration and extras?
    Any help and advice would be appreciated?
    Thank you
    John

    The letter or digit after the paint code T denotes the vinyl top and its color.

    The VIN says nothing about the engine or trans. All wildcats that year came with a 430. By this year I believe only a TH 400 trans was available. There may have been some 3 speed manual on the column cars. Check with some Cat experts here to know for sure. By that year the 4 speeds were no longer an option. But check this with others.

    Ops Jim I meant to ask what colour vinyl top is 8, (paint code T8), on the 1968 year model?
    Thanks
    John

    Hello Rob
    Thank you for the information, it is appreciated. Do you have any samples of the interior colours which are gold and dark gold? (TR413). Have you owned a 68 Wildcat?
    Thank you once again
    Regards John

    John,

    unfortunately the album has not much about trim 413 in the Wildcat section:

    Hello Rob
    Thank you for the information and colour schemes. What you have showed me for the 413 trim code is very close to what is in the car. However it is listed a a medium gold and a dark gold? I don't know where they get the names from, as it looks very much like a green to me. However as suggested, I have asked SMS to provide to me samples based on the trim code and hopefully this will confirm what I have? More interestingly is the white bottom colour. It makes the car look fantastic and very different, however it is not what came out of the factory. I have not been able to find a picture of a desert beige car with the green avdacado roof. How do you work out what type of white it is and match it up? Do you have a picture of your wildcat?
    Thank you once again.
    Regards
    John
