I saw this car online while searching info for 1968 GS400's. I'm trying to learn more abotu these as I am a Buick infant. Haha The seller claims the car has a factory cast aluminum intake. Were the intakes in fact cast aluminum on the 68 GS400's? I'm guessing no. Man, for $30k you think they could buy a new repop grill to put in the car and make it look better. Also, did Buick produce these with buckets and a column shift like this one? Thanks Ryan. https://classiccars.com/listings/vi...-sport-for-sale-in-indiana-pennsylvania-15701
Buckets were available with column shift. The '68 grille is hard to find, but they should have for that price. The center caps on the wheels should be right, too. You are correct regarding the intake; it's probably the Edelbrock painted red. They went a little crazy with the chassis black everywhere, too. I think they've had this one a while, and probably will continue to. Patrick
Pat, the grills are being reproduced now. I'm not sure who is actually making them though. Is the firewall supposed to be body color or black? I thought that engine bay looked to black but wasn't sure. https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/bu...Buick+Skylark/GS/Regal/GN&modelID=7&year=1968
Trim 178 on the cowl tag is for black bucket seats. The trim pieces (fender vents, GS emblems, Trunk emblem) look awfully pitted so I would look it over very close for body work. Fresh paint hides a lot. The fan shroud looks like a '69 even though later '68's cam with the mounting block for the hose hook the holes were not drilled out like this one. Rear bumper is way out of adjustment. Firewalls were black
not a conv but a fellow board members car is hands down a better car same price range https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/d/buick-1968-gs-4spd-very-low/6267003968.html
