My engine bay was not restored. I just cleaned and painted some stuff. It isn't "correct" in every detail.
The wagon is long gone, it lives in Pittsburg PA. The owner is a great guy and loves the wagon, we keep in touch some. I only have one at a time. Right now I have none. I'm spending time building an addition to my garage/shop.

That's just a touchup? Looks really nice. :TU:

Do you know the Duplicolor number for the engine red?

    Thanks for the compliment.
I bought the engine paint from CARS in NJ http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/ so I know nothing about Duplicolor.
I use some Ford red engine paint as a base then use the Buick red as a top cote, seems to work well for me, but I am not too picky about being absolutely correct on the shade of red.
For the black I use John Deere Blitz Black http://blitzblack.com/ and pay a lot more than $25 per gallon mentioned there. Easy to spray, I think Stevie Wonder could spray it successfully. It reminds me a lot of the old GM Reconditioning paint, but easier to get.
I did have the car/wagon all apart for paint so the clean up was easy, but I still didn't go all out. I didn't pull the engine.
I buy the CARS Buick red in a quart and paint the cast iron surfaces with a brush  it comes out slick every time. I spray the smooth surfaces like the rocker covers.
The air cleaner is supposed to be shiny, not flat, so I used single stage urethane.

Thanks for the paint tips. I'll be doing the same thing - detailing it in the car for a nice Winter project.

Say, the emblems arrived today. Now the challenge is to get the rest of the car worthy to wear them.. :TU:

Anyone know what the original tire size was for these?

The custom "option" or trim level was the wood grain side trim.

I don't want to come across as a jerk here. Truth is I have no knowledge of the sticker implications nor of what it all means. But I did own the wagon. The way I have seen other wagons with wood grain they have a trim around the wood, some bright trim, like stainless or aluminum. The trim would need to be attached with something, I have no idea what, some clip or other. I had the wagon all apart for paint and other refurbishing. It had no such trim as I have seen on wood grain wagons. It had no extra unexplained holes or any indication the wood grain or trim was ever on it. I am not saying you are wrong, but I have serious doubts the wagon ever had wood grain. It has been a few years since I owned it but I just never for a second thought it had the wood grain.
    How was the trim attached?

I was assuming that the CUST. was an abbreviation for custom which does not seem to be the case. My mistake. According to my info model numbers had 5 digits, 44455 and 44465 (3 seats), and the custom 44855 and 44865 (3 seats). My wagon is a 44865 and did have the wood grain sides, with many holes down the side to hold the stainless trim on. Sorry about the confusion.

No apology necessary, we are all learning from this, I love learning about these cars. I very much appreciate the opportunity you gave me to learn. I can tell you know a lot about these and I am very glad you share with me/us. Thank You! I apologize for being, more or less ignorant, about the wagons I have owned. I can only offer the hands on experience I have had.
My wagon was 44465, and it did have the third seat as you say, I didn't know any of the things you pointed out. I sincerely hope you continue to help me/us learn.

    Again, Thank You,
    Mike

The PO kept the Foose wheels in exchange for a discount and shipped the SW with 89 Corvette wheels. They looked so bad I didn't even take a pic of it. I had these 17" Boss 38's sitting around and threw them on.

    Zoomin,

Here are a few shots of my 67 Sportwagon 400 engine compartment. I haven't been on here in a while but the 400 designation refers to the Superturbine 3 speed 400 trans (switch pitch torque converter) and the 260 hp V8 4 barrel carb as opposed to the standard 220 hp V8 2 barrel. The Custom version did have the vinyl wood grain side dcor. These could be ordered with two or three row seating. A self leveling system was an available option as well. The A/C will freeze your butt off and it cools faster than any coupe or hardtop I've ever owned. This is a blast to drive and haul all sorts of stuff home from Lowe's and Home Depot. I hope you use it and enjoy it as much as we do.

    A fine looking specimen!

The PO painted the engine blue (to match the interior, lol) and the stock air cleaner is MIA so I'll replace that. I picked up a set of hubcaps so hope to be rolling those as I return her to her former glory.

    Thanks for the pix.

Is he the one that did this paint, or is he the POS I bought this from?
