Just bought the thing, now I'm curious to learn more about them. Does anyone have a source for build numbers, options? Engine says 340-4bbl on the valve covers, but has 400 emblems on the quarters. Has the engine been replaced?

    Nice looking ride.
The 400 on the quarters refer to an option which contained the 340-4 engine and a 400 turbo transmission, which said transmission would have the "Switch Pitch" converter in 67. What else was in the "400" option I don't know, if anything. Only the 400 option wagons received the 400 transmissions which are 3 speeds, all other automatics in the 67 wagons were 2 speed transmissions.
BTW, I have a pair of NOS GM "400" emblems for the quarters I would sell if you should like to buy them.

Learned from another guy that the 400 package also included disk brakes.

I had one with the 400 package, one owner before me, it didn't have disc brakes. I had the original window sticker and there was no mention of disc brakes. The wagon never had disc brakes, the front had never been apart, nothing had been apart, original paint too. And there was no mention of a "Disc brake delete" on the sticker. All this leads me to believe your information source could possible be mistaken, just maybe, I make no accusation.
The green one had the 400 pkg, the brown one did not.
$60 shipped for the NOS emblems. They are in the packages so no shelf wear, but at least one has been opened for sure.

Very sweet looking Sporty - congrats on the purchase

Im no expert on the 67's but in 68/69 the 400 emblem on the quarter denoted (quoting from the salesmans guide)

A9 option - Sportwagon "400" high performance Package (includes 340 hp 400-4 V8, Spuer Turbine 400 Transmission, and SportWagon 400 Identifying ornamentation)

Again, my knowledge is pretty limited to 68/69, but the 400 tranny option with the small block was only on the LeSabre

anyways .. Cast into the block dead center behind the intake manifold will be the engine size in cast numbers

Thanks for the info Alan. Is "super turbine" Buick lingo for Turbo HydraMatic?

The 400 emblem referred to the turbo 400 switch pitch transmission. It did not include disc brakes. My unmolested 1967 sport wagon had the aluminum drum front brakes. 68 and newer could be different.

    Steve,
You moving from one sweet ride onto the next project already. Sweet looking 67 too. I'd like to have one I could pull this 65 Airstream camper with. How did the 66 fair on the road to Dallas?

Steve, your package is already shipped. I dropped it at the post office a little while ago, I can print my own postage.
    Thank you,
    Mike
    PS
    According to my copy of the window sticker from the green wagon;

    W01 A9 SPORT WAGON -400- OPTION - 340CU. IN.
HIGH PERFORMANCE V8 ENGINE W/4 BBL.
    CARBURETOR, SUPER TURBINE 400 TRANS.
    & SPECIFIC ORNAMENTATION . $268.57

So I think that is all that is included in the 400 option in 1967.

Todd, the 66 was just like driving a new car - rode great, drove great, no problems. I'm not going to get as carried away on this one. The engine has plenty of pep, and I need a nice parts chaser/DD that I won't be afraid to park somewhere. This wagon has helper air bags in the rear springs. Not sure what the capacity it has though.

Thanks for all the info and the emblems, Mike.

Thanks for posting that - I never knew they didn't offer the 400 engine in the '67 Sporty and always assumed the ones I saw with the "400" emblems were Big Block Buicks like all the 68 & 69 Sporty's I've seen or owned over the years. One of the reasons I love this site and have always said "I may know quite a bit .. but Im no expert or "Guru" because there is always more to learn about these cars.."

Can you post up some good detailed pics of the 400 emblems when you get them ? I've never seen them for sale and they look mighty similar to the ones on my '68

I'll be happy to put up some pix when I get them Alan. They're pretty simple items. A red filled rectangle with '400' in it.

I I agree with your comments about this forum and learning stuff. It's a great resource

According to some documentation I ran across, the 400 option also included 15:1 ratio power steering. Did your wagons have that? Mike, did your window sticker specify anything with regards to power steering?

Here's a pic of the 400 emblem as it appears on the car now.

What is your documentation? Is it for a 1967 Sport Wagon?
Everything listed on the sticker under the 400 option is listed in my post, I left nothing out.
The next option on the sticker is
    N40 C6 POWER STEERING 94.79
And again that is all the information listed for that option, no ratio mentioned.
The model is 444657H, SPORTWAGON 4DR. CUST. 35,,,,,,whatever that means.

Hey Mike, can I get you to post a pic of the engine compartment? Or anyone that has the 340-4bbl in original/restored configuration?
