    Guys,
My 67GS is almost to paint and the shop is having difficulty finding or having this color made for them. Ditzler, DuPont, Sherwin Williams, etc are saying they don't have the correct tints to duplicate. I see this was also listed as a GTO color called Silverglaze but was a different shade. Has anyone here within the last year or two purchased Platinum Mist or a equal that you can refer me to or offer a suggestion on how I can find this color? The current paint on my car is a non factory color so dosent help.

Has the shop tried another paint store or just the one they usually deal with. I ran into a similar situation on another color last summer and went to a different paint store and walked out with the mix half hour later

I had a similar problem. I wanted 1971 silver mist poly on my 70. My paint supply shop had to call spies-hecker to get the formula. Turned out fine

Have you tried glasurit or PPG? YOu could always find a shop with the gun that can pull the paint break down

Thanks guys for all your input. Shop found what they believe is the correct match. They are making a test panel for me to look at next week.

That color is available in both R-M and Glasurit b/c, either solvent borne or water borne.

The current offset color mixing number for PPG paint is 2287 which was originally code 5a on a ford but color looks to be a good match.

PPG "Omni" line has most the old formulas available

I mixed the PPG #2287 IN THE Omni /Shopline JB basecoat and color looked good and it is priced right at only $164.00 a gallon currently at store where I work.
