I am seeing what is out there. But anyways I am looking for a 1967 GS400 hardtop with a 4spd. Prefer no major projects. Would like a decent driver. color doesnt really matter. Interior doesnt matter but dont like white. Distance will depend on price right. Looking to spend $8,000.

You should be able to get a fairly decent one for $8,000. Or... a solid project for half that. Good luck!

  4. a 4 speed will be considerably more than an auto car and one in solid shape even more so...

I looked for one last year and never had any success. Missed a couple that sounded good. Since then I have bought a Skylark and everything to clone it to a GS400, including 67 GS400 engine all trim and hood scoops. All I like is the biggie, the Star Wars air cleaner, just missed one at a steal. I know it is not the same, but just riding around, I don't care.

I have also been looking at skylarks to clone to a gs400. But the major thing is, it needs to be a 4spd. I know its going to be hard to find.

Several interesting cars. Makes me think my running and driving $800. car is a better deal all the time. Bought it for $800 and have only about $600. in 67 GS400 engine and all parts to clone to GS car, came with buckets, tilt, AC and power steering and brakes. Looks as good or better than most in pictures. I think I can spend less than $5,000 and have a very nice driver with all new important drive train stuff.

If you or anyone else is interested, I am selling my 67 gs400 convertible project.

Majority of the work is done, drive while you finish.

    - 1974 455 block, decked to .010, bored to .040
    - 1970 iron heads w/stg 1 valves with fresh valve job, highly ported, can get you flow numbers if needed. better than basic street/strip
    - Speed Pro forged pistons
    - Engine completely rebuilt including new oil pan
    - TA 413 cam
    - B4B manifold
    - TA Comp Headers
    - Fresh full rebuild of 800 cfm Quadrajet to stg 1 specs by techg8 on the board
    - new aluminum radiator
    - th400 with transgo kit
    - brand new tci 3500 stall converter
    - flowmaster/pypes combo 2.5" dual exhaust, flowmaster 40s pypes xpipe with exhaust cutouts
    - SPC tubular front UCA, fully adjustable
    - Howe tall upper and lower ball joints - readup on SC&C.com for advantages gained in camber/caster/toe
    - all new front suspension parts
    - new eibach pro kit lowering springs on all 4 corners with new billstein shocks on all 4 corners
    - 1.25" front sway
    - Monte ss quick ratio steering gear 2.5 turns lock to lock
    - new power brake booster, mc and cpp mc mount proportioning valve
    - LS1 Trans Am disc brakes on front with new rotors
    - LS1 Trans Am rear disc brakes in boxes, not mounted, has mounting spacer for 10/12 bolt
    - new gas tank/sending unit/holley electric fuel pump, fuel lines/brake lines/hoses, etc...

    - Front fenders just back from body shop where the doglegs were cutout, new metal put in place, expoxied and primered on the outside, thin coated of bed liner type material on the inners to prevent any future rust.
    - Hood just back from body shop, only need to drill holes and mount the hood scoops
    - Need to mount the front end which should be done this weekend and it will be inspectable
    - Both Quarters have rust in the typical spots but I have two good full quarters from a 66 2 door special that will go with the car, one dent to be pulled but other than that good to go.
    - Passenger side floor pan needs to be patched/replaced.
    - Needs new top, but electric motors all work good
    - electric windows all work
    - has all mouldings and in good shape except the trunk moulding which is pitted to crap.
    - console car with good console. looks to be 2nd/3rd gen camaro seats in front now but they are junk, original rear bench is there and looks to have been dyed. door panels are decent, all interior gs400 mouldings are there as well. new Grant steering wheel, but comes with the cracked original tri-bar.
    - 17x8 AE TT2 wheels with 245/45/17 on all 4 corners.

If you are looking for a good pro-touring gs400 vert that will be a joy to drive once completed and can either do the quarter swap or would be willing to pay for it, you would have a mean car on short money.

Feel free to contact me on my cell, 603-325-2431, or PM me to discuss further. I started consulting last year and am on the road 3-4 days a week and just don't have the nights to put towards anything other than my wife and kids. I have been building it for about 3 years now with help from board members. Reach out to 'BuickRat' if you want to get a second opinion on the car and the engine. He wired everything up for me at his shop once I started to travel.

I am looking to buy a turn key fun car that won't require my time, so want to sell this to get my garage back for the new toy. Willing to work on pricing.

    Tom
