Drove by the other day and it isn't at the dealership anymore, but I guess it didn't sell in California. He must be storing it at his house because it's the same guy/dealership here in town that I went to and took all the pics at last year. I think he's going to be hanging onto it for a very long time until someone gives him the 40-45k he's certain it's worth.

It would help it out SO much if they put the fender moldings and GS badges and pinstripe on it. Those missing items alone make me personally say, pass, what else is missing, skipped over, or just neglected to get done.

Well, that explains why it's not at the dealership here anymore hahaha.....Once I get to the mumbo jumbo at the end after the description of a car, I kind of blank out :D

As of today it's parked right back in the exact same spot it was last year when i posted about it originally. Hopefully the guy gets realistic and sells it to someone who will really finish it out right. It sure is a pretty and sharp car.....apparently his '66 Chevelle didn't sell either. Nice car as well.

The original auction ad said it's one-of one-color combo. That can't be because my father had A GS400 convertible with that same color combo (Verde Green with Yellow Buckets) in the mid-1970's. I don't remember what color the top was. It's was his daily driver and I am pretty sure it ended up in a junkyard somewhere. His car had a full length console instead of the shorty console. Seeing this other car sure does bring back some memories though.

  9. When I saw that car in Montana from a distance it looked very good but up close it has some issues. I want to say the quarters were poorly done if I remember correctly. This is one somebody would definitely want to look over very closely before purchasing.

Well, I hope he lets it go....Seems like it's getting bid into the mid/upper 20s every time, hopefully he sees that as it's value now.....Something I may have asked you before, Chris, but I forget if I have: Have you (or anyone else) ever been to that Lucky Collector Car auction? I see cars on CL over there advertised for it all the time. Always looks like they've got some good and interesting stuff.

I haven't been to the Lucky Auction before, although I have been tempted a couple of times. Seems to never fit into my schedule though.

  13. I've seen that car in person before and I had the strong feeling there was some hidden surprises under the paint. Perhaps it's been redone since then but it doesn't look like it.

When I inspected it on the other thread, I got under and all around it the best I could with it being on the ground. It's solid as a rock from what I could see. Has both new 1/4s, floors looked great, trunk perfect, yadayada....Just not the greatest paint job, but I'm a picky mofo on paint. It'd satisfy 90% of the guys out there, I'm sure. Can't remember how long ago the guy told me he had gotten the body and paint done (answer is probably on the other leads thread I posted last year), but for all intents and purposes it had 0 miles on the paint job.

Maybe it could use a good sand an buff to fix the problems.

Yes, it definitely needs a cut and buff, or at least it did last year, also had a scratch in one of the front fenders from hitting it with his snowplow. He wasn't "finished" with the restoration at that time, and I haven't been up close to it since it got back to town and back from the previous few auctions it's been at to see if the paint issues were fixed or not. If it doesn't sell at the Lucky Collector auction and comes back to town, maybe I'll go out and get more pics of it in it's current state.

  17. I'm guessing the quarters were replaced after I saw it. Remember the paint looking very thick.

Being sold by "Cosmotors", which is probably the guy who used to run Cosmopolitan Motors, and I think also runs the Lucky Auction......
