I purchased a restored Buick Special in the fall of 2016 and I just wanted to share my video logs and modifications with the rest of the forum! Any questions, recommendations, or tips are more than welcome! Here are some quick specs.

    2 Door Hardtop Coupe
    Now has a Buick V8 455 CID
    TH2004R transmission
    Holley Terminator EFI
    Poston S-Divider intake manifold
    Cam (unknown for now)
Tanks Inc fuel tank, pump, and sending unit with all new Earls fuel lines and fittings
    Holley fuel pressure regulator
Summit Racing vacuum pump booster (makes the power brakes work properly!!!)
Wilwood front and rear disc brakes, no parking brake
Hooker headers (I think) with 3" exhaust
    Front wheels - Foose 18x8 - 235/40/R18 (originally American Racing 17x7 - 245/45/R17)
    Rear wheels - Foose 18x9 - 275/40/R18 (originally American Racing Torque Thrust 17x8 - 275/40/R17)

...and the videos probably show more detail

cool videos and nice car. How are you going to lower it? New lowering springs? I have the 2" lowering springs from BMR on my 67.

Welcome to the V8Buick Family!! :TU:

Thanks! BMR lowering springs made the car way too low possibly because the rear end isn't stock. It is a GM 12 bolt. With some trial and error, I ended up installing Mooge factory replacement springs with the rubber insulators top and bottom which effectively lowered the rear end by about 3 inches. The front of the car has 2" drop spindles.

I like it too. Here's one that Mike and I both once had. I bought it from him.
Still had the 300 engine with mild cam and th350 , but also had Foose wheels.
I added the extra body side molding on front fender, which I always wondered why
GM didn't do. Probably my favorite car and is now just a few blocks away. If it
goes on the market might get it back.

Wow that car looks great! I might actually end up changing the rims on mine or at least have a second set that looks more classic muscle. Maybe a set of aluminum 15" rims with some meaty tires. I always had a thing for that classic muscle look as well as the more modern 18--20 inch rim sizes.

So, you added the chrome fender trim? How do you go about doing that and where do you get the trim? My car doesn't have it on the front or the rear but I think i might like to have it...

Found it from someone parting out a 67 with rear moldings. Cut it to length I wanted and had it polished.
Beveled the butt end to fit against the fake ventiport piece.
Then carefully laid it out onto painters tape covered fender area, traced it and drilled some centered holes (2).
Used Dorman threaded fastener clips to attach to fender. Also used the removed Special emblem hole so had
3 clips total. Takes some courage to start drilling holes!

Hmm, all of the video links stopped working. I guess something must have changed so I'll post them again. Sorry about that.

I've changed my mind on a few things so it is time for more upgrades. I'm going to install a new intake manifold and also (most likely but not 100% sure yet) install air ride suspension. I'm not impressed with the Poston S-Divider dual plane intake manifold that is currently installed. I pulled the plugs and it seems that the fuel distribution isn't quite right. Take a look at these spark plugs and see what you think. Another thing I have been considering is bucket seats and a B&M Megashifter. My column shift is three position which only allows me to put the transmission in 2nd gear. Major drag. As for the bucket seats and the bench seat currently installed - I find myself sliding all over the place when simply turning down a road. Plus the springs and foams are worn out. It never ends! Tomorrow, I'm taking the car to a custom alignment shop which specializes in older cars. I hope they can figure out what is wrong with my front end. Every time I hit any sort of bump or imperfection on the highway, the car bucks left or right BIG TIME! It is a real bear to control!
