    Good Morning,
I had an immature moment when the owner of this here in Cincy said they made
the 67 Wagon with a 400. I know some have been created and it was a fact in 68/69.
The claim of "numbers Matching " is IMHO a fantasy. I said "pfaaah" and had to walk away from this guy.
    Cheers,

It is really nice, but it is what it is :)
He is asking 37,500 for it- down from $42,000 !

I'm pretty sure those GS emblems are from a late model Regal GS.
Either that or they're something someone had made up.

    Definitely not from 1967...

I believe they made a Sport Wagon "400" but that just meant it had a Turbo 400 trans and a 340/4bbl engine. I'd agree that the numbers matching is a fantasy.

Wayne Watley from SC created a silver 67 which he called,"One of none". Do you have any front end pictures?

Quick Buick that looks like it- since that it has 67 hood scoops and later road wheels added.

I hate to burst his bubble but in any of those pictures in both ads that engine is a 350 as it stated in the UK/US sales ad. The valve covers have six bolts and the fan shroud is too long for a BBB. In the one picture you can clearly see it says Sport Wagon 400. Nothing to see here other than a way overpriced car at $40K. The UK/US ad $$$ is at least almost tolerable for a nice vehicle after you remove the newer GS emblems. Before it was painted I would've added some '67 GS emblems right before or maybe after the 1/4 panel "Sport Wagon 400" if I was going that way.

And, like the LeSabre's of around that year, the '400' in the LeSabre 400 option and the Sport Wagon 400 option were both ST/TH400 transmissions, I believe., not 400 cid engines.

Yep, the only Buick A bodies that weren’t GSs that were available with a big block were the ‘68-‘69 Sportwagons.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

The Silver wagon belonged to Wayne Whatley years ago. Its a nice wagon with a lot of attention to detail on it. Best I recall he sold it for something like 24k years ago. I think they are way off at $37.5K but you never know what someone will pay

I'm not sure we're on the exact same page here. What I am saying is that a '67 Sport Wagon 400 has a ST/TH400 transmission as optional and that is what the '400' in the option Sport Wagon 400 stood for, not the engine. They still had 340 engines, albeit they could've been the hi-compression 340-4's. It seemed like the original posts in this thread were stating that the Seller or Owner of this '67 Sport Wagon 400 was telling people it was a 400 cid engine or came with a 400 cid engine. It did not come from the factory with a 400 cid engine (in '67).

Note: It wasn't until '68 & '69 that the Sport Wagon 400 option included the 400 cid engine (same engine as the GS 400, by the way). So, before '68, the Sport Wagon 400 and the LeSabre 400 options used the ST/TH400 transmission and that's where the '400' came from, not the engine size. Remember that TH400's were fairly new and were heavily marketed by GM as its flagship transmission

Pretty sure that Wayne and his trusty sidekick, Joe, did this car. Wayne put the emblems on the fenders and maybe something non stock under the hood.

Ah --I see it now. Wayne put the Star Wars on there.

If you see the owner again, I can give you Wayne's number so he can hear about the car straight from the builder. But, first we need to get a 3rd party to hold the cash for a little wager.

Hawken, I’m not sure how you inferred so much from my short statement. I know that the ‘400’ option meant ST400 and a four barrel small block in many applications. I simply meant that no matter what some confused owner says, if it’s not a GS or a ‘68-‘69 Sporty it can’t be a factory big block Buick A body.

The link posted to a Sarasota car dealer suggests the dealer advertised and told the current owner that it is a 67 GS 400 wagon.

I personally thing the whole pre-'68 option seems confusing on ts face. I remember looking at mid'60's LeSabre 400's for parts years ago after seeing some '68 & '69 Sport Wagon 400's and trying to figure out why all the BBB engines were gone and all replaced with the same smaller engines.
