You don't see one of these for sale very often. Wildcat GS only made in 1966. A total of 1,244 Wildcat GSs were built by Buick during the model year. Of those, 242 were convertibles and the rest were hardtops. A mere 22 (consisting of an unknown mix of both body styles) were Super Wildcats. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/buick/wildcat/2269824.html
Wow another Wildcat GS in Maine..... The Burgundy mist is one of the best colors for the Cat although it would be even better with an Artic White painted top
GS logo should be in the right lower corner of the decklid. Approximately 2" up from the chrome and 3" over from the right lower edge. Script letters indicate an early Wildcat
A very pretty car...if it's as good as it looks, the price isn't too bad, as long as there's some wiggle room. I love the car; but, if anyone is serious about going for one of these, it always pays to do one's homework and learn as much about the Wildcat GS as possible. The big thing and where all the value is, is proving that the car is the real thing, and not some made up conglomeration of parts.
That’s my old car, I couldn’t get any interest in it when I sold it a few years ago. . There’s a build sheet that went with it that shows what it is. It’s the real deal. Originally had a black vinyl top.
Hi Tom, I seriously considered buying it from you several times but the timing was never right for me....and the price was much lower! Lol... Tom Mooney
Good info here from when htrdbuick listed it for sale. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/66-wildcat-gs.304871/page-1
In 3 years the guys wants almost double of the offered price here; - good money if he can get it. Well, about the only thing that proves is just how valueless the dollar has been getting in the past 3 years if that price is now the acceptable standard. To me the $13,500 it was offered at was a very fair price, and the $21,900 is very ambitious. Tom, I hope you got more than you offered it for here when you finally did sell it.
21,900 is really reaching. I sold it for a little less than the 13,500 i had offered it here for. There wasn't much market for the car at the time, its a really large automobile and i think that a lot of folks are just not interested in the big cars anymore.
I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks at the time of your original listing in 2015 having surgeries for a burst appendix. Missed it. Probably would have missed it anyway but especially wasn't thinking about cars. The priest gave me last rites. Doctors got me through it though. Still here.
I don't know, seeing what these other 65-66 wildcats are bringing right now makes $21000 for a real wildcat GS in this condition seem like not too much of a reach
