Looking for a set of stainless door trim for a 1966 Skylark two door. I have found locally but, price seems high ($175). Not looking for show quality. I'd like driver quality not missing any metal. Thanks.

Hey Tod. I'm waiting on GS Spoken here to send pics. If his parts are really bad, I'll still be looking. Btw how are you doing?

I have a complete set of 8 for $200.00. I have some other door chrome but have screw holes in them, they are driver quality, and not a lot of $

Made a mistake, left off one 0 for the complete set of nice chrome, $200.00, sorry about that

The single door ones, with screw holes $20.00 for the pair, plus shipping.

I will try to get some pictures and post here of the door chrome.

    Thanks Bill

    Devin,
Here are the 2 pieces of trim i have for the 66 doors. They do have screw holes in them, they are at least located in the black stripe area so no so obtrusive. Otherwise thay are pretty nice pieces. One has a few shallow dings. I can repair these moldings and weld up the holes, but sounds like that may be more than what you are looking for. The 2 pieces as is I would not sell for less than $100 + shipping.

Just FYI, honest typo here as Bill offered these to me a while back for the $200.00 price. Still have the PM.

Doing good. Trying to finish parting and scrap whats left of the 66 Post car and getting shop cleaned up. Kinda hard right now...Broke arm a few weeks ago cutting a tree branch. So I have plenty of time on my side but a one arm bandit cant do much. Still have door panels and seats if you need them

What's worth more than the trim are the clips that hold them in place! Think there's 4 or 5 different clips for those moldings.

Where’s the junkyard, maybe someone close can go buy the trim?

The pair Mike has looks nice, and the holes are in the painted area, you can use small head screw and then hide with black stripe tape. If using clips just fill the holes and paint the black stipe.

The set of single door one's I have, have the screw holes about 4 in each, in the chrome area, and would be difficult to fix correctly.

You are correct, about the clips, just finishing installing a set of 8 trims on my 66, and yes about 5 different clips from the factory, I used some of the original, and the rest aftermarket. The best is I found was a cut to fit from Restoration Specialties, but they require some cutting and bending and fitting. They also have ones that will work on the rear quarter that have to be push on.

    Hey Bill,
I too have used a 'universal' clip that had to be bent and cut to size for the trim pieces. However, I haven't found a good solution for the spring loaded clips for the rear quarters. Been scavenging for good originals. Would you post a pic if possible of these clips, please? Or a part number would be helpful. Appreciate it, thx!
